while of course anyone can watch the show, i think that giving a male hero a female mlp skin would entirely miss the point of the show. if anything, spike should be the only one up for consideration (though i honestly think they'd only add the mane 6, not him). (3/3)

I think this is indeed the case now given they just did the same thing with NieR: Automata which they called it Project YoRHa instead so the game's title probably also means we probably won't also see a big trailer for it probably just some screenshots and a blog post for it.

Interesting enough that they didn't directly call it Persona 5, my only guess is that it probably had something to do with the ESRB's policy of putting M rated game crossovers with T rated or lower titles so their loophole is by putting in the in-game group's name instead.
