A3 Academy Premier Opens Season With Gritty Road Win At St. Pete College A3 Academy Premier opened its season with a gritty 2–1 road victory over St. Pete College in a tightly played non-conference matchup, punctuated by a go-ahead ninth-inning home run from senior Matthew Midyett (FAMU). Midyett also tripled in his first AB. The Trojans got on the board first when Nate Roldan delivered a clutch two-out RBI single, setting the tone offensively. A3 finished the day out-hitting St. Pete College 10–5 and played a clean defensive game with no errors. Moises Gudino starred from the leadoff spot, going 4-for-5 and making a tremendous play in the 5–6 hole at shortstop. Gudino, a commit to University of South Florida, anchored the defense all night, while Midyett, committed to Florida A&M University, supplied the late-game separation. A3’s pitching staff was lights out from start to finish. Joseph Deljevic, the Rutgers commit, got the opening start and worked two efficient innings to set the tone. From there, Bryan Alonso, Isaiah Welch, Landon Serrano, and Forest Pepperkorn bridged the gap seamlessly, passing the baton cleanly to Hayden Sladewski, who shut the door in the bottom of the ninth to earn the save. The staff combined to allow just one run, striking out seven, hitting only one batter, and issuing just one walk. Forest Pepperkorn earned the win. Behind the plate, Sammy Echeverry delivered a complete performance, throwing out a runner at second base, collecting multiple hits, and stealing a bag. The game moved efficiently, wrapping up in approximately two hours and 26 minutes. A3 Academy Premier opens the season 1–0.

The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired INF Brett Wisely and LHP Ken Waldichuk from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Osvaldo Bido and INF Tsung-Che Cheng have been designated for assignment.
