By launching this illegal war of aggression against Iran, Donald Trump has betrayed the American people and his own base, none of whom wanted this. He has sided with Lindsay Graham, Mark Levin and Benjamin Netanyahu, the most despised laughingstocks on the planet. By announcing that this is indeed a regime change war (as anyone paying attention and being honest has known all along) he has tied his entire legacy to this action. If he isn’t able to achieve a regime change, he will have killed a bunch of people for no reason. If the regime does fall, we have already admitted that we have no one to install and without boots on the ground, it is difficult to install a regime even if you had someone. Trump will be responsible for what comes next- the thing war hawks never consider.

What this actually looks like: ICE tries to get woman who thinks she's being cute for a video to move her vehicle. Three agents surround the vehicle, one from the front, two from the driver's side. Likely looking to gain control of the situation. It is not cute to them, as they're being surrounded by a mob. Woman panics, realizing this is in fact not cute, and attempts to flee thinking she can avoid arrest. Tire loses traction and the car doesn't immediately respond to gas input. Woman panics further and guns the gas causing an erratic vehicle take off. Agent at the front of the vehicle almost gets hit. Agents respond by opening fire thinking the woman is using the vehicle as a deadly weapon, trying to hit the lead ICE agent at the front of the vehicle. Woman who shouldn't have even been there, but was there because she got spun out of control on TikTok drama dies. Agents have to live with it. Will likely have people demanding a mob-style execution by COB today. What the Right Wants: Psychotic leftist domestic terrorist tries to kill ICE agents! We should use more force. What the Left Wants: Fascist NAZI psychopaths are murdering women and children! We should use more force. Who actually wins: Minnesota politicians and bureaucrats who can spin this into a riot and continue to avoid accountability for fraud. Not every military bombing campaign leads to a wider war, and not every regime change is guaranteed to be the catastrophe that Iraq or Libya was, but it does always creates a risk of that. An entire world war was started over one political assassination. Countless catastrophic wars have started with limited engagement. When you start dropping bombs and killing people and toppling governments, you inherently risk unintended consequence and unavoidable escalation. The big knock (or the only one they can come up with) on me and the non-interventionist right more broadly, is that we overreacted to this threat of the 12 day war and are doing the same now. But, how on earth after the last 25 years and the last 7 disastrous wars can you NOT be concerned about that threat? When you bomb a country who hasn’t attacked you or you topple the leader of a nation the risk of getting into a bloody and costly war is real. It is absolutely an unacceptable risk to take and I genuinely don’t understand how anyone who loves this country would accept it. I don’t think this is going to be another Iraq or Afghanistan. My guess is it won’t be Libya either. But the possibility of a catastrophe is not zero and there’s a good chance this will make things worse. No wise leader would take this risk to his own country for such an unnecessary regime change.
