I sure hope my posts over the years have contributed something to someone, along the way. It's so hard to know. 🤔

What are some ways to share a podcast episode? Lots of good ideas in this post: transistor.fm/share-podcast-… - Use @EpisodesFM - Share video clips on social - Share a link to your podcast website - Use Spotify's "share to Instagram stories"

For several months I’ve been working closely with the FBI to tackle an international ring peddling CSAM. I’ve worked with some great companies along the way, but 1 stands out in actually protecting and enabling the sale of child s****** assault materials.

@merott When we don't know what to do, we do what we know. I've been there. But it looks like you're doing well, Polar Habits is a great tool!

@sucantare I have never been offered a barter request that was even close to being equitable. So, no. But I'm open to the concept...🤔

I just traded a website design for some custom carpentry work in my house. Anyone else ever barter your talents for cool stuff?

It's weird that people be like "If you're not in tech because you love it, you'll never be good" Because you know how everyone says that to Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants and other professionals.

@vegasgeek Sounds very Star Trek-y. I have no help to offer but I'll be watching the thread! :)

I did NOT have "seriously questioning whether there's still a place for me in the tech industry" on my 2024 bingo card, but...here we are. 🤔

My fellow Chris is on to something here. Personally, I'm damn good company for me. Always have been. That said, I do have lonely moments in which the company of others is nourishing. It's all about having the emotional literacy to know what I need in the moment.
Chris Do@theChrisDo

It is said, if you’re comfortable being alone you can never be lonely. As an introvert I enjoy quiet, alone time, watching a movie or reading a book. Or just being silent. But I also like spending time with people I care about. Long time since I’ve felt lonely. Thoughts?

I was laid off in early November, just before the holidays. Tough timing for a job hunt, right? I've spent the last 10 weeks diligently applying for jobs & making new connections. It's time to humble myself & ask for help. Here's the help I ask of you, dear reader:

For most of my adult life I always thought my goal was to have a chill life, but the truth was that I just wanted a chill nervous system. It took a long time to understand the difference...

@juberti @dflieb @hrhraj @ysegmond I love this exchange. I've been there. It's brutal. I think that as leaders, we all hope we can level up the B-players. Sometimes we can, sometimes not. It's a huge win when we can, and a huge problem when we can't.

I’ve made or seen hundreds of hires, and one thing I have never seen is a B player hire an A player. Not once. If you play that out, you realize that compromising on even a single role can destroy a team forever.
