@RutgersAltRoute A2: There are many ways to accommodate individuals with ADHD, but I've found that fidgets and/or bouncy chairs help them stay focused by giving them space to move. Modifying assignments into smaller chunks also helps them not feel so overwhelmed. #TeacherEd #SpEd

@RutgersAltRoute A5 Little things matter. Students notice the small compliments you give them. A cool new haircut, a great doodle in their notebooks (even if they’re not supposed to doodle), or just a “You did great in class today!” means the world. They’re kids! They remember the small things.

@RutgersAltRoute A5: One of my favorite things to do to spread kindness in the classroom is through the use of a gratitude jar. Students or staff can place notes of thanks in a jar, each getting read out loud at the end of the week. I've seen this go a long way. #TeacherEd #SafeSchools

Harassment, intimidation, and bullying threaten our best #safeschools efforts. They range from verbal and physical assaults to social and cyber. #TeacherEd #Safeschools Q2: What, if any, forms of HIB behaviors have you observed? How have they impacted students?
