My late-wife campaigned for Brexit and died young just after the poll.
She was a Left-winger who'd lived in Brussels and believed, as Tony Benn did, that the nation state was the irreducible unit of government.
She didn't go to her grave thinking Brexit would be unwound a decade later by people who said they would honour the decision of the British public, but who were actually just waiting for those who voted for Brexit to die off.

“What kind of a depraved monster slices off a woman’s breast while she is being gang raped, and throws it into the dust to be used as a plaything? What kind of a twisted pervert turns rape into necrophilia by shooting a woman in the head while he is still defiling her?
What kind of ‘freedom fighters’ go into battle with a set of handy Arabic-to-Hebrew phrases, including ‘take off your pants’, ‘lie down’, and ‘spread your legs’?
What self-respecting human being presses nails, scalpels, a hammer, an axe, screwdrivers and other household tools into a woman’s genitals?
How hard do you have to rape someone, and with what, to shatter their pelvis? Who shoots a young girl in the face and then films her mutilated corpse on her brother’s mobile phone?
The answer is: Hamas terrorists. This is the stark reality of what they did to men, women and children on October 7, 2023. And the world must never forget.”

A short history of the great British improvement.
They came for beef dripping. We got margarine, then seed oils, then a cardiac ward in every hospital.
They came for butter. They told your grandmother it would kill her husband. The replacement was a tub of palm oil emulsified with rapeseed and a yellow dye, and her husband died of a heart attack in 1989 anyway.
They came for full-fat milk. We got skimmed milk, a vitamin D deficiency epidemic in children, and a cereal aisle fortified to plug the gap.
They came for mutton, the meat that fed every shepherd, miner, and mill worker for six hundred years. We got a chicken breast injected with water and a turkey twizzler.
They came for the kipper. We got a Findus boil-in-the-bag, dyed orange, and a fish oil capsule sold at the chemist to make up for the omega-3 nobody is eating.
They came for wool. We got polyester fleece, and microplastics in human placentas. Every one tested. Sixty-two out of sixty-two.
They came for leather. We got synthetic shoes that delaminate in eighteen months, and a high street with no cobbler.
They came for the cotton nappy. We got the disposable, and a landfill that will outlast the child wearing it.
They came for the cast iron pan handed down three generations. We got Teflon, and a forever chemical now found in 98% of British rivers.
They came for the wooden bowl your grandmother kneaded dough in. We got Tupperware, then BPA, then "BPA-free" plastic containing compounds we have not yet bothered to measure.
Now they are coming for the cow herself. The replacement is a textured pea isolate, extruded in a factory in the American Midwest, packaged in plastic, and marketed as the ethical option by a company called Cargill, who happen to be the third-largest meat processor in the United States.
Every traditional material we have been told to give up was working perfectly, for free, for centuries. Every industrial replacement has been worse for the body, worse for the land, and considerably better for the shareholders of the company that sold it.
The pattern is not subtle, and the people running it are not embarrassed.
Your great-grandmother is no longer here to call it.
You are.

This Day (May 8) in 2001, the walls of a remote cave in the Judean Desert were covered with the blood of two Jewish boys — deliberately smeared there by their Palestinian killers in a final act of barbaric triumph.
Koby Mandell (13) and Yosef Ishran (14) had gone hiking near their homes when they were ambushed.
The terrorists bound their hands, stabbed them repeatedly, and beat them to death with rocks.
The mutilation was so horrific that forensic teams needed dental records to identify the bodies.
This was no random act of violence.
This was the sadistic murder of two innocent Jewish children during the early days of the Second Intifada — the terror campaign Yasser Arafat deliberately launched after rejecting Ehud Barak’s generous peace offer at Camp David (a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital).
Just months earlier, Arafat had chosen the path of blood instead of peace.
Koby and Yosef paid the price with unimaginable cruelty.
Seasoned Israeli investigators were shaken to their core. These weren’t soldiers. They were children, simply hiking near their village in their ancestral homeland.
Their mothers waited in agony as the search dragged on. When the bodies were found, the scene was almost unspeakable.
Nothing about this is or has ever been “resistance.” Aiming to destroy the world's only Jewish state and wipe out all Jewish men, women and children has been the goal.
Never forget Koby Mandell and Yosef Ishran.

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝟒𝟔𝟑 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐒. 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐏𝐓𝐒.
Every time someone trots out the Crusades to lecture Christians or the West, they leave out four centuries of history. I'm putting it back on the record.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲
Muhammad died in 632. Within three years, Muslim armies had taken Damascus (635). The next year, Antioch (636). The year after that, the entire Holy Land (637) — the spiritual center of Christendom, gone. Armenia became the first Christian nation fully conquered (639). Egypt, the Coptic Christian power, fell two years later (641). By 650, Muslim forces had reached southern Italy and Cyprus, taking thousands of captives as "𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴" and "𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘶𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴." Then came Spain — Muslim armies crossed from North Africa in 711 and overran most of Iberia by 715.
In roughly 80 years, Christianity lost the Middle East, North Africa, and most of the Iberian Peninsula.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 — 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐥𝐲
This was not exploration. This was conquest. In 717, Muslim forces besieged Constantinople itself — the capital of Eastern Christendom. The siege lasted a year before they were repelled. Had it succeeded, the path into Europe would have been wide open.
In 730, they invaded France. Charles Martel stopped them at Tours. In 792, the ruler of Al-Andalus called for a second invasion of France. Repelled. In 848, a third invasion of France. Repelled again.
In 827, Muslims invaded Sicily and Italy, persecuting monks and pillaging Christian communities. Sicily would remain under Islamic rule for 250 years. In 846, they invaded Rome itself and forced the Pope to pay tribute. By 909, they had taken Sardinia.
This was relentless, coordinated, and existential.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭
In 937, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher — built over the site Christians believe is the tomb of Christ — was burned to the ground. More churches in Jerusalem were torched alongside it. In 1009, the Church of the Resurrection was destroyed. By 1012, Al-Hakim's oppressive decrees against Christians had begun in earnest.
Christian pilgrims could no longer safely visit the sites of Christ's ministry. The holiest city in Christendom was ruled by a hostile power systematically destroying the faith itself.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩
In 1071, Muslim Turkish forces shattered the Byzantine army at Manzikert and occupied most of Anatolia. Constantinople was now directly threatened.
In 1094, Byzantine Emperor Alexios I Komnenos sent envoys to Rome begging Western Christendom for military aid.
In 1095, Pope Urban II declared the First Crusade.

I just finished an interview with Brad from Across Nigeria… and honestly, I’m sitting here stunned.
Today, he buried 14 Christians in a mass grave.
Two were infants.
One was a 4-year-old child.
And this isn’t some recycled internet story or political talking point. Brad was literally there today helping bury them. While on the way to investigate one attack, another Christian community was attacked. He said the violence is happening so fast they can barely keep up anymore.
What shocked me even more is this:
Brad shared that 72% of all Christians killed worldwide last year were killed in this region of Nigeria.
72%.
And hardly anybody is talking about it.
The mainstream media should be all over this. Instead, most people scrolling social media today have no idea our brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered while churches are being forced underground.
Guys… this matters.
Please watch this interview.
Please pray for these families.
And PLEASE share this everywhere you can.
At this point, WE are the media.
WE are how people find out.
WE are the distribution network.
If enough ordinary people start sharing the truth, eventually the world will have to pay attention.
Watch the full conversation and help us get this story out.

That moment was a genuine turning point for me.
When ordinary British citizens were immediately framed as “far right” in the aftermath of the 3 young girls from Southport being murdered, I realised something had gone badly wrong in this country.
It was the moment I started questioning how the government views and treats its own people.

Gay Manc@GayTory
Every Labour councillor that loses their seat should remember that this all started when Starmer used the murder of the girls in Southport to blame the far right - far right being the ordinary men and women of this country.

We've had Ukrainian flags flying over public buildings, 'trans' flags flying outside schools and colleges, Palestinian flags on our streets, the EU flag at the Last Night of the Proms, and the liberal left have lapped it up. But when Joe the brickie from Wakefield sticks our national flag on a lamp-post, it's the end of civilisation. These people are beyond parody.

The Mediterranean diet that has been sold to you as the beacon of human health is largely fictitious.
People in the Mediterranean do not eat whole grains.
The bread is white. Sourdough, semolina, ciabatta, baguette, pita, focaccia, pane carasau. White flour. Always white.
The pasta is white. Durum wheat semolina, refined, dried, boiled.
The rice is white. Arborio, carnaroli, vialone nano. Polished. Refined. White.
The cheese is full-fat. Pecorino, parmigiano, manchego, feta, halloumi, ricotta, mozzarella di bufala, casu axedu. Made from raw sheep, goat, or buffalo milk. Aged. Salted. Eaten daily.
The yoghurt is full-fat. Strained until it could hold a spoon upright. Topped with honey from a beehive the maker can point to.
The fish is fatty. Sardines, anchovies, mackerel, tuna belly, swordfish, octopus. Grilled in olive oil and eaten with the heads still on.
The meat is constant. Lamb, goat, pork, beef, rabbit, wild boar, offal, cured pork in every form a pig can be cured into. Lardo, prosciutto, guanciale, jamón ibérico, soppressata, 'nduja.
The eggs come from a chicken with a name.
The olive oil is poured on the meat.
The wine is in the glass.
This is the diet that produced the centenarians.
A Harvard nutritionist looked at all of that, decided the bread was the important bit, made it brown, removed the lardo, demoted the lamb, and put the result in a textbook.
The shepherd is still in the field.
He has not been informed.

A young couple in England, the day before they were due to exchange contracts on what was to be their first home, received two phone calls in quick succession. The first was from their estate agent. The second was from their solicitor. The information was the same in both.
The local council had outbid them for their house, by £20,000. The seller had accepted.
The couple had been bidding for the house since the asking price was £150,000. The bidding had taken the price up to £190,000, already, by their own account, the upper edge of what they could afford. The council had come in at £210,000, a level they could not match.
Their offer was abandoned. Their survey, costing £900, was wasted. They still owe legal fees of £2,200 plus VAT regardless. The fixed-rate mortgage offer they had secured, in a market where rates have been rising again, will now expire before they find another property. Their landlord has new tenants moving in to their current rental in the second week of June. They are looking, on the calendar in front of them, at potential homelessness inside two months.
The reason the council bought the house was disclosed to them, after some pushing, by a councillor they happened to know personally. The council needed urgent additional accommodation for asylum seekers. The property they had been buying was already previously registered as a House in Multiple Occupation, which made the conversion straightforward.
The taxpayer money the council used to outbid them comes from a £500 million national pilot scheme, established under the present government, in which local authorities are funded to buy properties on the open market in order to house asylum seekers and reduce the cost of asylum hotels.
In other words, local government is, on the order of central government, using your own money to give housing that you should
It's a representative case.
134,760 British households were in temporary accommodation as of September 2025, which is a record. 4,793 people were sleeping rough on a single night in autumn 2025, also a record, and 171% higher than in 2010. 28% of all new social housing lettings in England in 2024/25, approximately 75,000 households, went to people deemed statutorily homeless.
The number of new social housing lettings that included a member of the Armed Forces community was, in the same year, approximately 2,600. The number of new lettings that went to non-UK nationals, on the basis of the nationality data published by central government, was substantially in excess of that veteran figure, by, depending on how the data is cut, about 10x.
This is the British state, in 2026, using the working tax contributions of two young people in the first weeks of trying to buy a home, to outbid those same two young people for that same home, in order to provide free accommodation for foreign nationals whose claims to be in this country have not yet been assessed and may well be completely worthless.
The young people will, on the present trajectory, be made homeless in the same June in which the asylum seekers move into the property they were trying to buy. The young people will be paying, through their council tax for the rest of their working lives, for the accommodation in which the asylum seekers will live. It is likely, given the number of migrants to Britain whose lifetime tax contribution is net negative, that they will be paying tax to offset these new arrivals for the rest of their lives.
It goes without saying that we need the most fundamental imaginable reconstruction of our asylum, housing, planning, and immigration laws to prevent such travesties of justice from happening again. We all know what is required by way of change in those areas. Progress has written a more extensively policy testament on this subject than any other political organisation in Britain.
Beyond that there is one last thing worth saying. The young couple, on the available account, are not in a position to fight any of this through the courts. They cannot afford to. Their solicitor, on their telling, was pressing them for the legal fees on a debit card before the rest of the conversation was over.
They will, in all likelihood, lose the home, the deposit, the survey, the rate deal, and the remainder of their tenancy in a single short summer. They will then watch the property they were trying to buy be filled, at the public's expense, by the people the British state has decided to prioritise over them.
If that does not make you furious enough to do something about what is happening in Britain, nothing will.

Can’t quite believe the ZX Spectrum turns 44 today! 🙏 I’m even less willing to acknowledge I’m more than a decade older than it!
On 23 April 1982, Sir Clive Sinclair unveiled a rubber-keyed, rainbow-striped 8-bit computer at the Churchill Hotel in London. It cost £125. It sold over five million units. It contributed significantly to the launch of the British IT industry.
Around twenty thousand+ games were made for it including of course Jet Set Willy, Atic Atac and my personal fave - The Way of the Exploding Fist 🤜 💥
In the middle of an AI arms race, it’s worth remembering how simple the computing experience used to be.
What was your first ZX Spectrum game?🕹️
