If reasoned men don’t keep talking, then unreasonable men will take over the narrative, & everything that dies...burns...gets shot...that’s destroyed...withers, will be our fault because we lacked the courage to continue the conversation. Via @BrianCHouston @BishopJakes tonight.

This moment in history could be a moment of transformation and change. Racism has to be crushed NOW and forever, and ALL people must be treated equal. It’s time for affirmative action. Let’s take our stand.

The Book of Acts is unfinished...Paul’s story ends abruptly. What happens next? Well - we happen next. It is our turn now. We are the conclusion to the story. Are we going to finish it well?...Will our example...open the door of opportunity for another generation? - R.Fergusson

@chrishanj I dont know of a book that deals with the specific point directly, most all of them assume it. I am 99% positive that Bruggemann dealt with it in passing toward the beginning, because he then used Isaiah as a prophet for multiple points of history throughout the book. 1/x

Like Jesus, we will receive criticism. Unlike Jesus, we often deserve it...we mustn’t be silenced by falsehood, or disempowered by fear. All criticism, deserved and undeserved, is an opportunity to learn, change and grow, but never a reason to lose confidence. - Robert Fergusson

@chrishanj Chesterton said something like: “Theologians try to get heavens into their heads, whilst poets try to get their heads into the heavens.”

“Perhaps only poetry can connect the transcendence of heaven with the mundanities of earth. Poetry is simply the best words in the best order. It is not just the language of the ancient prophet, it is the responsibility of the modern pastor.” - Robert Fergusson
