🚨NEW🚨 The leader of the online terrorist group "Eterssa" has been arrested in Russia, along with co-conspirators from all over the world. Back in January, we began tracking an online terror group known as "Eterssa". The group had links to the 764 network and to the Ukrainian terrorist group MKY and appeared to be operated by Russian actors. In January, the group was responsible for a slew of school shooting hoaxes and swattings in Texas. They also claimed to be responsible for vehicle arsons in the US, Germany, and Italy. As the scope of Eterssa's activities expanded, the group began claiming responsiblity for other terror acts, including the recent mass shooting in San Diego. They flooded social media with propaganda videos threatening bombings in various locations. I became aware of this group when they posted one of their videos in my comments section. Members of the group, angry with my reporting on MKY and 764, threatened to bomb my house and have me assassinated. So uh... things got hot for a bit🥴 Now, an international investigation has finally led to the arrest of most members of Eterssa, including their leader, "Flester", in Russia. The Russian FSB announced today that the 17-year-old was arrested in Dagestan and described him as the founder and administrator of “one of the largest international online communities linked to terrorist organizations.” They published footage of the arrest (video below). Flester's arrest is only one of several that have been pouring in over the past couple of months (continued in thread🧵)

Bradley Scott Sayer, the 18-year-old who opened fire in a California library on Monday, was part of 764 network-adjacent Com groups that spam child abuse material online. He was also connected to mass shooter copycat groups online, and even had a Roblox account with an avatar in a KMFDM shirt (a nod to Columbine). The overlap between "TCC" (online mass shooter fanclubs) and Com/764 has been growing rapidly over the past year, morphing into a brand new threat. It shouldn't surprise anyone to learn that I'd encountered Sayer's online group in the past. And, as always, we reported them to X and to authorities, which still didn't prevent the inevitable mass shooting.

@chrishansen Catching people with low IQs or who have mental problems is fine, but it's low hanging fruit-->why don't you go after politicians or billionaires for a change? That would have more of a positive impact on society.
