Apple be like “let’s just put a blurry haze on everything and call it ‘glass’ in this update” Honestly feels like I’m having an eye exam every time I look the icons.

I’ve been very quiet, I also have a backlog of things to post. Now I’ve missed windows to do it strategically, I’m also ill and I’m also seeing Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle tomorrow… none of those things are related.

@PandaKingPinder I think there’s ways they could’ve simplified it and kept its traditional values in tact! I used Starbucks as an example, Quaker Oats are another good one. Same character, same vibe, but block shapes and less detail!

@chrishardyart I don't know much of what's been going on and I wouldn't ever say simple is boring but I feel like the original had more character which it's now kind of losing if that makes sense. 🤔

As a Brit, I’m somewhat unfamiliar with cracker barrel, but its logo debacle has sparked a lot of design talk. Does simple equal boring? Maybe? That’s debatable, but from a lot of use applications such as print, web, app icons, favicons, as well as accessibility, simple is key.

@KDHScott530 Obvs they have a lot worse for going for them as a company, and are the epitome of gentrified coffee However, it’s a good eg. of how the mermaid has become so associated that when zoomed we still know it’s a mermaid. If SB went to the original, a lot would pros would hate it

@KDHScott530 That is the bleak reality of gentrification and is actually happening! Interior decor differs a lot from logo design in practical sense that it needs to be used in simple formats. There are other ways to simply and keep tradition. E.g Starbucks logo…

@TeeRiddle While that is true, and there is an “old man yells at cloud” surrounding this. I generally read designers views as well so a lot of the critique I’d seen were valid design comments. A lot of people like “tradition”, but with that comes outdated trends.

@chrishardyart The Cracker Barrel logo has nothing to do with design and everything to do with a segment of the US population that loves being outraged over the dumbest shit possible.

Some OC meme slop All I’m saying is that I officially want colour books back natively in AI without having to manually use Pantone connect… which isn’t even compatible in Photoshop on Silicon based Macs without launching in Rosetta. Can Pantone and Adobe just make up 🥲

@kymthedestroyer @iiJoyz I’m all about the “…” sometimes I’m struggling with character count on a tweet and realise I could just delete the several uses of ellipsis…

Okay so we all know how AI is devastating the creative industry, but do you know what it’s ruined for me? Em dashes — I’m so worried that anything I type will look AI generated that I’m afraid to use them now. 😂 I find myself re-reading my text “does this look AI?”

@iiJoyz The worst is people using the incorrect amount of dots, it’s always 3. It’s not interchangeable lol

@leave_not_liv I just stopped using punctuation besides commas and full stops unless it’s really necessary 😂 Semi-colons in texts probably never were necessary anyway, so that’s on me.

@OMEGAB0Y It does make me wonder how my dissertation and essays from my uni days (2009-2012) would fair up on an AI checker. Even some of my captions flag as AI now 😂😅 When I try to sound engaging, it’s honestly like a robot learning how to talk to humans lol

@chrishardyart i don't write enough anymore so i barely use them, but if those people saw what i wrote back when i did it and rolplayed they would point so many fingers at me for "using ai" 😭

@VICE0FEDEN The thing we have to remember is WE trained AI, not the other way around. We’re not typing like AI, it’s typing like us lol I’ve seen so many stories which are meme level of anyone who isn’t neurotypical being mistaken for AI. When I write posts and captions I try to sound fancy

@chrishardyart The em dash will have to be pried from my cold lifeless hands 😩😩 It’s unfortunate how people use the appearance of them as an AI indicator , I think there are much bigger ways to tell 😔

Had a great time at @ATGFestival. Such a refreshing chilled out vibe compared to the stressful hustle and bustle of the festivals I’m used to. Hopefully can return next year! I didn’t take too many photos, but I took some videos here and there which I might post.

To anyone stressing about A level results, my college grades were D/E level, but I still got into uni, earned a Fine Art foundation degree and then a 2:1 in Graphic Design. Sometimes we fluke it, but we can recover. Also congrats to anyone who smashed theirs!
