@MelbourneBlokee @SibsMUFC But Carrick isn't OGS and I think that's not really an argument. Because somebody else failed it doesn't mean he has to. And there are several concerns about Iraola too

@SibsMUFC If it was up to me, I wouldn’t give it to him. I’ve just seen this before, with OGS. I’d give it to the Bournemouth manager, ahead of Carrick. But it’s a “what if” moment, either way, it’s going to either be great, or it will completely back fire. Time will tell..

I still have some reservations about Carrick but can’t fault the job he’s done. Exceeded expectations most of us had when he joined. At this point I feel he’s earned the right to try build on it next season. Of course it’s risky but so is every manager we can realistically hire.

@JACOBJAMES17041 @Robin_W_1 Are we still doing Amorim revisionism? This guy got us into 15th. The job was too big for him, and that's okay, but pls don't try to sell me the lie that it's great for the future to miss out on the CL, play bad football and alienate players

@Robin_W_1 He is a fucking clown according to you and I am not sure Amorim is worried about that. The results didn't back him but it is bcos he was trying to prepare the team for the long term at the expense of results. That is more difficult than just getting results w/o changing structure

Ten Hag sold Garner, Amorim would have sold Mainoo. We definitely need to be wary of any new manager. We cannot just get one who is after short term results for themselves. We need a manager who invests in the future

@corleonecapital @CinemaTweets1 Yeah agreed absolutely. Hollywood booked too many upcoming talents of IP stuff and burned them. I think Peele and Coogler are our best bets for new(ish) voices in blockbuster cinema, and I like Josh Safdie. Saulnier is great, but will most probably always do genre stuff

@corleonecapital @CinemaTweets1 I tried to fit your criteria of successful. I did love Parasite and Hell or High Water tho tbh. I also didn't like Once Upon a Time as much as his other stuff. But to your original point: I think we're trending up again after a rough decade. Lots of good original work recently

Respect your POV, but I find any of these exceptional tbh, except “get out”. They were boring for me. Outside of Nolan I haven’t had my dick blown off by anything. Aftersun, Hannet, and The Florida Project would be my top picks, but they’re too niche. Even Once Upon A Time in Hollywood I feel is overrated. The most plot driven movie he’s ever done and lacked the wild creativity we’re used to from him, beyond the gimmicky ending

@Texans_Thoughts Oh sorry man, I just found the whole discussion a bit grating the last couple of days, so might've come across ruder than intended. I see where you're coming from and I agree that his overall drafts have been fine. Just sometimes seems to think he's the smartest in the room lol

@chrishook94 Im just messing around. I believe the consensus board is useful but not the end all be all. Caserio has historically gone against consensus on day 2 and 3, and not had great results But he nails his 1st rounders (minus Kenyon, which went against consensus) so it’s been fine

That’s Azeez “former UDFA screw consensus boards” Al-Shaair to you
Mike Garafolo@MikeGarafolo

The extension for #Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair is a three-year, $54 million deal, sources tell @RapSheet and me. Close to the top of the linebacker market in a deal done ahead of what would’ve been a contract year for Al-Shaair.

@corleonecapital @CinemaTweets1 The 00s were rough, too tbh. Not that many movies fitting your criteria from then either. The 2010s were bad, but the trend is clearly upwards. And the last 10 years had some great stuff: Get Out, EEAAO, Parasite, Knives Out, Arrival, Three Billboards.., Hell or High Water...

@CinemaTweets1 Sinners, weapons, okay. They don’t hold a candle to 90’s and 00’s originals imho.

@CinemaTweets1 Tarantino is spot on, I'm pretty well versed in most eras, seen 100's of films per decade from the 30's through the 70's. 100's per year from the 80's to modern day. I can't think of an era more dismal than the present.

I don't know why we need to wake up but the actors who starred in these things are over 70 or 80, what younger actors could headline a gangster film? I'm sure if some young Italian-American stud showed up and was box-office, there'd be a mafia film greenlit pronto.
Cinema Tweets@CinemaTweets1

Martin Scorsese effectively ended the gangster genre with The Irishman. Look around, who’s making gangster films anymore? Marty mastered the mafia movie & The Irishman is a fitting cap to the entire genre. Discourse around this film is back on my timeline & people need to wake up

@P2WFantasy Agree on all except for Stowers. He occupies the same spaces as Lemon, Goedert and to some degree Devonta. First year it will be tough for him to provide real value. Lots of spots he could've found less target competition in

Was Bijan Robinson a “faller” when he also landed with Tyler Allgeier? The 49ers router: Mike Evans, George Kittle, Christian Kirk. All older. Reached on Stribling Nobody was hoping for Calvin Ridley Historic Jalen Hurts to TE connection. Add extremely athletic Stowers

@chrishook94 also, definiere produktiv? Jauan Jennings hat letztes Jahr 58 Bälle für 711 Yards gefangen. Ich denke, Stribling wird in diese Rolle rutschen und sollte das direkt passieren, halte ich 50 Catches für ~600 Yards für denkbar
