@Crumdawg97 @brady_shark88 @awfulannouncing This was a terrible job by the clock operator who didn’t want the game to end. I was all over this as well when it happened. No way should only :03 elapse on a medium range field goal attempt. It was indeed over.

@brady_shark88 @awfulannouncing Is that true? Ball being carried but clock isn’t moving? Weird! If that’s right: *FG took 4.3 seconds (0:03 ran off) *Kickoff took 5.7 seconds (once he exits end zone) That’s 10 seconds in two plays when only something between 8.1 and 9.0 seconds was on clock. Game was over.

And here's the *official* ending after a bit of chaos. Sean McDonough: "Matt, this is feeling like an excruciating ending to a classic game. Does common sense need to prevail here?" Matt Austin: "Well, yes, but we do have rules we have to follow." 🏈🦓🎙️ #CFP

OLE MISS WINS! Here's the go-ahead field goal and ensuing kickoff that resulted in a safety. Sean McDonough on the call for ESPN. 🏈🔥🎙️ #CFP

Screen grabs of Harpo and Buster Keaton from MGM's 1935 Technicolor (NOT colorized) short film, "La Fiesta de Santa Barbara." It says "SITTING BULL" on Harpo's headband. And hey - nice jugs!

@MarxBrosPodcast @StoliarSteve There’s a few photos from this time that make me wonder if he had a nose job at some point…maybe necessary as a result of getting punched!

Publicity shot promoting The Four Marx Brothers in "The Cocoanuts" on Broadway, 1925. Harpo's bright red wig was a distinctive attention-getter onstage, but only photographed as dark gray in the film version, so he traded it for a more strawberry-blond wig in subsequent films.

LAUREL AND HARDY BOOK UPDATE Putting Pants on Phillip (1927) was made early in their teaming. Stan is a kilt-wearing, woman-chasing Scot and Ollie is his uncle who wants to fit him for American attire. Their producer, Hal Roach, considered this among the best films he produced.

@TomPelissero Well what about squib kicks? Are they dead? Seems like that would be a way to do a surprise onside kick. And what happens if a kicker is able to get the ball land where the rest of the offense is lined up?

Kicking off a new era: Owners just approved the NFL Hybrid Kickoff rule, per source. After years of tweaks turned one of the game’s most exciting moments into a “dead, ceremonial play”, the league hopes this overhaul will yield what it wants: fewer injuries and more returns.
