The Europeans made a critical mistake by ignoring Iran, and taking Trump’s bait by saying “Iran is not our war.” Europe is well within range of Iran’s missiles. Its economies are threatened by closure of the Strait of Hormuz. They’ve given Trump the perfect opportunity to end US support of Ukraine. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/04/0…

Ed, we are not talking about sending European troops to fight in Iran, we are talking about airspace and America using its own bases.

@marcthiessen Marc, Nato's purpose is not hard to understand; mutual self-defence. That obviously doesn't cover reckless wars of choice on which other members haven't been consulted & would never have advised.

So, America… here you are. From a model of democracy to committing war crimes. I am amazed at how little time it took to get here, just one year. I am not surprised by Trump’s ultimatum to strike Iran’s power plants if the regime does not open the Strait of Hormuz. After all, it is no coincidence that his idol is Vladimir Putin, not Winston Churchill. What amazes me is how U.S. politicians and military leaders are allowing a deranged man to turn the United States into russia. I am amazed at how so many people, raised on the values of the free world, have turned into thousands of Marco Rubios, wearing shoes that do not fit, yet too afraid to say so. I am amazed that only a few have the dignity to stand up, while everyone else sits quietly and is ready to forgive Trump for protecting pedophiles, for constant lies, for violations of the Constitution, and now even for war crimes. And they remain silent not because they face death or imprisonment for speaking out, but simply because they fear losing their positions. It turns out that for the American establishment, losing a position is more frightening than war crimes. How did you come to this, America? How? Attacking civilian infrastructure in Iran will not solve the problems of Trump’s military operation. The old fool is too arrogant to learn from the experience of his friend Vladimir in Ukraine, who has been bombing our power plants for four years and has achieved nothing but greater resistance and anger among civilians toward the occupiers. The great American absurdity currently holding the office of President of the United States always chooses the most foolish option available. Right now, Trump simply does not understand that Iranians are not Americans. After years under the Ayatollah regime, they are used to hardship and daily struggles, and one more will not break them. Trump already betrayed the Iranian people once when he called for an uprising and then failed to support them, allowing it to be drowned in blood. And now, instead of seeking support from the people against the regime, this foolish old man wants to strike civilians to secure access to oil. This is an extremely cynical and vile plan. A war crime for the sake of oil. This war began as a fight of good against absolute evil, but it will become a disgrace for Trump and the United States. America, are you okay with this? Zelenskyy: My intelligence has repeatedly warned me the Russians are taking satellite images of American bases. This answers the question. Does Russia help Iran? Of course. How many percent? One hundred percent.

BREAKING: In an extraordinary and illegal move, Trump says he’s transferring $10 billion from the U.S. government to his “Board of Peace,” which he chairs and can use the funds as he wishes. Where is Congress???

Imagine Charles Lindbergh winning the 1940 presidential election and immediately cutting off taxpayer-funded assistance to the UK, even as London was being bombed nightly by the Nazis. That's essentially what we're seeing here.

PRESS SEC on the RUSSIAN-UKRAINE WAR: The President views this entire situation as unfair, not just for the Russians and Ukrainians who have lost their lives, but also for the American taxpayers who were footing the bill for this war effort before President Trump put a stop to it.

I think that if you’re going to write a piece in the Times urging the government to use and boost more AI, the fact that you are paid by a major AI company should be in the first sentence, or at least first paragraph. I also think that the best scenario for AI is that it destroys millions of jobs with the prosperity, dignity and community that goes with them. The worst scenario is the destruction of the human race - a fear openly expressed by an increasing number of senior and experienced AI engineers who are leaving the industry. And somewhere in between a myriad of horrors such as yet more screen learning and screen addiction for our children. But I do see that it will make rich men even richer. And that’s the most important thing of course.

Russians say: "We’re happy, we’re glad to live in Russia. We definitely wouldn’t want to live in another country. We like everything here. We’re happy, we’re proud. The only thing that worries us, of course, is our children - and the war. Our sons are there. We wish it would all end already, because we worry about the boys. We have a son. And for many years we’ve been struggling with gas. That’s the only other problem. There are problems with sewer system and gas. That’s the only thing that bothers us. When you walk down the street, people dump everything right onto the road. And the stench... That’s it. Otherwise, everything is basically fine."

Even in the age of Trump, just staggering. Here is Steve Witkoff, an American offical, coaching a Kremlin adviser about how Putin should deal with Trump. “Congratulate the president on this achievement … that he is a man of peace.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
