Had to go for reasons stated below. He's been a car crash. However there's no denying this board have sapped the life out of him. The next ones got the hardest job yet. Younger players, smaller budget and no DKD or Didz to bail them out. #BarnsleyFC

1/6. Conor Hourihane verdict: Whilst I wouldn’t necessarily write him off long-term, there’s no getting away from his debut season being abysmal. He's certainly got a lot to learn and a chip to lose. Perhaps a few seasons as an assistant coach would do him some good.

6/6. The board could’ve done better, but IMO were 1 rotation striker short each window. CH failed to get the best out of his squad. He stuck with the worst performing, least experienced & least talented CB. Overall a car crash. 1/10. Saved by McGoldrick. Time to go. #BarnsleyFC

5/6. His man management appears volatile. Players like Ogbeta, Vickers, Cooper & Phillips going from key roles to ostracized. Odd pressers declaring MDG a fullback, only willing to discuss the goals scored column & ruling us out competively next season making matters worse.

No surprise we've seen a huge improvement with Mael at CB. Two footed, dependable, aggressive and in his prime. Just a proper footballer. To blood him for 2 seasons then drop him made little sense. Cream always rises. #BarnsleyFC

Jack Shepherd wouldn't get near any of the decent CB pairings we've had over the years. He's a decent squad filler given where he came from. How he's starting every game I'll never know. Height and commitment is all I've seen. Everything else is poor. #BarnsleyFC
