6. Evelyn Boyd (1924-2023) was the second black woman to earn a PhD in mathematics. She graduated from Smith College Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mathematics and physics in 1941. After finishing her doctorate at Yale in 1949, she performed research and taught at several schools before taking on a role at IBM and then NASA. There, she designed computer software and worked on several projects, including celestial mechanics and trajectory computation for the Apollo program. And to top it all, she was the perfect example of advocacy for women and black students in STEM. Thank you, Evelyn!

I haven’t been streaming much lately bc it gives me anxiety but the combo of making something and having a group of girlies to yap to fixed my anxiety 🤎 If you’re getting into streaming, I definitely recommend doing that. And steal my pancake friday idea bc it was so much fun
