North Carolina is now being warned by Governor Josh Stein about a $2.8 BILLION budget shortfall over the next two years. That’s not a small gap. That’s a structural problem. And here’s the part people keep skipping over: North Carolina has had a long run of Democratic governors — including Roy Cooper, who is now running for U.S. Senate after serving two terms, and now Josh Stein. So this didn’t happen overnight. This is the result of years of decisions. Budgets passed. Priorities set. Promises made. Now the bill is coming due. @JamesHu27192912 So tell us you know nothing about NC Politics. The Governor in NC may submit a budget, but it's the Legislature which passes it. The NC Legislature has been controlled by the NCGOP since 2010. They have to pass a budget. They have dictated spending in the State. It's not hard.
