Canada and Europe are united in our values of pluralism, the rule of law, and democracy. On Europe Day, we’re building on that foundation to forge new strategic partnerships, deepen our trade, and stand steadfast with Ukraine. In a more uncertain world, Canada and Europe are creating greater certainty, security, and prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic.

Danielle Smith just gave more UCP MLAs yet another raise — another $6,000. In the middle of an affordability crisis and a massive deficit, this is the same premier who says seniors’ benefits and AISH are “overly generous.” She has the largest cabinet in Alberta history and has found ways to give bonuses to Conservative members outside of cabinet as well. All but six UCP MLAs now receive some form of taxpayer-funded bonus. And we have a $9.4 billion deficit and no gas tax relief for the rest of us.

A new report released Wednesday, Decision Making and National Unity Under Threat, warns that foreign actors are exploiting existing divisions in how Albertans feel about separatism. The report identifies Russia, the U.S, and profit driven opportunists using AI as actors spreading misinformation and disinformation to inflame division, cause confusion and weaken trust during the separatism debate. This report exposes a complete failure of leadership by Danielle Smith. Foreign actors are exploiting Albertans' feelings, and her weak leadership has made us all a target for it. They are actively influencing separatism, and instead of stepping up, the Premier has done nothing. The report is clear: foreign actors didn’t create Albertans’ frustration – but they are exploiting it. Mixed messages about foreign interference have deepened the confusion. Yesterday, Mike Ellis, UCP Minster of Public Safety, said the RCMP found no evidence of foreign interference. Yet the report shows that claim is wrong or seriously incomplete, leaving Albertans vulnerable. All of this is happening while nearly three million Albertans have had their personal information exposed in the massive elections data breach scandal, with that data published online by a separatist group. Combined with clear evidence of foreign interference, there are serious questions about whether a separatism referendum could be fair, secure, or trusted by Albertans. Albertans are feeling ignored and unprotected. Their frustration is being exploited by foreign actors, and the Premier’s weak leadership is making it worse. The Premier needs to get her head out of the sand and explain to Albertans exactly what she will do to protect our province from foreign interference and protect Albertans from this massive data breach. cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

@CTVNationalNews I think Russia has enough on their plate, I don’t see a separation referendum in Alberta being very high on the priority list.

Danielle Smith's referendum is illegitimate. It's nothing but a distraction from the UCP's record of chaos and corruption.

I’ll be joining CNN’s @wolfblitzer at 11:30 AM to make clear that the only way for the U.S. to get its alcohol back onto Ontario shelves is to drop its tariffs on Canada.
