One time Charlie Duke came to talk to us at SpaceX. I remember someone asked if stepping onto the surface of the moon was at all a religious/spiritual experience.
He said no, he was just on an adventure. Even being non-religious, that always felt a bit disappointing to me.

@forallcurious This ur one of the reason why deep space travel in just impossible with current propulsion technology. The voyager 1 was launched in the some 40-50 years ago and it took 50 years to travel 1 light day for context our nearest star is 4.2 light years away😑
