162 artists from across the region set to benefit from over £1million funding from the National Lottery and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. The funding which is part of the Arts Council’s National Lottery Project Funding for Individual Artists (PFIA) scheme, supports artists across all artforms who are at various stages of their artistic careers, including emerging artists. Hear from Anna Jansson, the new Leader of the @uyoni, who has been presented with the Milton Violin by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Made by renowned Neapolitan violin maker Joseph Gagliano, this exquisite 245-year-old instrument will be played by Anna throughout her tenure as leader. Exceptional young violinist, Anna Jansson, has been announced as the new Leader of the Ulster Youth Orchestra and has been presented by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland with the 245 year old Milton Violin! Anna, who faced rigorous auditions to become the Leader of the Ulster Youth Orchestra, is currently studying at the Kunst-Universität in Graz, Austria. WOMEX World Music Expo will take place in Finland this October! This year, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland will host a combined stand located within the Horizons section of WOMEX. We are now welcoming applications for this delegate bursary which will see Arts Council of Northern Ireland support up to four successful applicants with attending the event.
