Jury Rules Live Nation is a Monopoly - It’s been fairly obvious for a very long time that LIVE NATION was a monopoly… Wonder why they took so long? - Unpopular opinion: Ticketmaster is a need. Why do I say this? Because Ticketmaster is more than just a ticket broker who charges exorbitant fees. They provide all the processing, customer service, payments, marketing, and an unmatched ticketing system. I worked there for quite a number of years back in the day… Got to see exactly why the fees are what they are. - Where did it all go wrong? In my humble opinion, it’s the ticket scalpers/fans that drove up the ticket prices… which ultimately made it all extremely expensive. Fans really never should’ve paid the exorbitant scalper prices… because eventually the artist noticed and adjusted accordingly. So concert goers who bought scalper tickets have contributed to this mess. IMHO
