This is so maddening and heartbreaking- I’m not sure from a policy standpoint what the fix is. DWI 5 was in 2015, do we want to provide a path back into society and driving again or do we want to say after #5 you never get a license again? I truly don’t know the best path here.

@realBrookNash Get out of the mentality that you're a writer getting paid on someone else's terms and into the mentality that you're running a small business on your terms (which you are). Get competent tax and legal advice and follow it. Set up a SMLCC to protect your assets.

It's inconceivable that there's any defendable reason for this. How does anyone justify covering the U.S. prison system while specifically excluding the voices of those within that system, those most impacted by that system, as anything other than outright oppression?
