Apple perdió una función que le costó miles de millones de dólares frente a un tipo con un proyecto que vale solo 8 dólares.
Un japonés anónimo vio la función “Persona” de las Vision Pro —las gafas de Apple que cuestan 3.499 dólares— y se echó a reír. Esa característica usa inteligencia artificial para dar respuestas con personalidad y estilo según el rol o tono que elijas, y para lograrlo Apple necesitó un chip M2, un procesador R1, 12 cámaras y un sensor LiDAR.
El japonés replicó exactamente lo mismo: reflejos faciales instantáneos, expresiones naturales, parpadeos realistas y reacciones inmediatas al sonreír… todo por el precio de una pizza.
Sus componentes: una placa ESP32, una cámara diminuta y el software de código abierto MediaPipe, que rastrea 468 puntos del rostro. Sin casco, sin laboratorios millonarios, sin años de investigación.
Costo total: 8 dólares.
Apple invirtió años y miles de millones. Él dedicó un fin de semana y ocho dólares.
Esto ya no es innovación.
Esto es humillación.
