What can the incredible frame gong teach us about how to listen better in our everyday lives? @DameEvelyn and Stuart talk about how this amazing instrument responds best to subtlety and curiosity - and how we can apply those principles to listening to other people.

Huge thanks to all of the artists who contributed their time, energy and creativity to helping us support this amazing charity, to Rafael Diogo for his tireless enthusiasm in assembling the collection, and to everyone who reached into their pockets to back this project.

Here’s a special message from @dameevelynglennie, as there are now just TWO MONTHS left to take part in our project Ways of Listening. Over the past few months, with so many submissions already sent, Ways of Listening has grown into something rich, surprising and deeply human.

What’s striking isn’t just the range of submissions, but the approaches to listening itself. The submissions form a kind of map — not of places, but of attention. Again and again, artists return to a simple but powerful idea: listening is not passive. It is something we do.

An award-winning live performance from Paris! (sort of) Here’s our performance at the Académie Charles Cros award ceremony of “Organ Drift”. Every sound in this piece is made from the same sample of the organ from the Se Velha church in Coimbra, Portugal.

These awards have been running since 1948 and the grands prix have been won by the likes of Eliane Radigue, Buddy Guy, Angelique Kidjo and, erm, Jimi Hendrix so we’re in good company.

Meet the infinity gong! @dameevelynglennie introduces us to this marvel, and what this means for listening in terms of how you approach an instrument, or a situation. Listening is about introducing yourself with care and attention, whether it’s to a gong, or to another person.
