@cam2924 I think his death is a perfect picture of what happens when both extremes are radicalized. It’s a very dangerous place to be and I dont like SKZ innocently stumbling into this world of politics that is so deeply volatile like a powder keg.

@KRYMSKZ If people don’t speak up they will just keep doing it. The money and success will attract evil people. Protect your members by letting them know - no need to blame - but letting JYP see this is baseline dangerous for their image should lead them to safer waters.

It is absolutely laughable that Macron is being associated as right wing - the snake moves from side to side as benefits him he’s not some bastion of the European right. He sucks because he’s weak and throws his people out with the bathwater- not conservative And I hate to break this to everyone but Korea is a conservative nation. So…most idols are not going to be poster children for any left leaning progressive values like you want them to be. They are safest maintaining neutrality and sticking to entertainment only. Being used to improve political points by the French president is not their fault but the association will continue to be made the more they do with the first couple.

That is all true - but this is like third or fourth time they’ve been pictured together. I think JYP should tread lightly and not over indulge and allow the kpop idol goodwill to become tainted by political people desperately trying to improve their public image. It should at least give jyp pause to know the more they do with this particular person, the more sour it may start to taste for french stays. Its the money they are making at the end of day that brings the sharks to the water. For me - I know the members themselves have no control over this - and they should be proud to have attained such success as to be recognized - but Felix in particular has been in lots of content with the French first couple and I think he may benefit from taking a break so the association doesn’t stick. Macron is globally unpopular and had caused a ton of suffering in France. Its best to keep idols as apolitical as possible. Diplomacy today very much can be used for political ends tomorrow. I just don’t want them to be vulnerable to that level of toxicity that follows all western politicians wherever they go.

They’re foreign affairs. SKZ and Felix would have a hard time refusing as it would be very insulting to the Korean government and PM.

It's a truth Americans ignored. We told ourselves hatred from Europe wasn't anything special because everyone hated us. Because there was something about us that deserved it. Deserved contempt, vitriol. But no, truth is Europe hates us because there's something wrong with them. Breaking the language barrier with Japan has made it abundantly clear that Americans aren't beholden to a Europe that constantly stabs us in the back. Counts every single favor as some outsized gift that we should count our blessings to have, considers every debt to us as a matter of just what we owe them for being what we are. Consider every interaction you've had with a European, or even Canadian, where they've treated American-ness like it was some sort of disease, a malady, a "thing" that made you inferior. That you owed them some otherwise unspoken apology for. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. You do. We've all encountered it, sometimes daily. None of it was true of course, but that didn't matter to them. Piggish Americans. Stupid Americans. Buffoonish Americans. For the longest time we've treated Europe like that angry friend who constantly says mean spirited cruel things, but really loves you in the end and will always have your back. When, no, Europe just hates us. Europe plays at being our friend because it needs us but then promptly knifes us in the back and twists it just to hear the sucking sound every chance they get. It's time to be honest with ourselves. It's not us, it's them, and they've been telling us how much they hate us for decades. It's time we believed them. It's time we acted accordingly.
