MORE BENEFICIAL PROGRAMMES, POLICIES IN PIPELINE FOR LAGOSIANS -  GOVERNOR’S AIDE The Lagos State Government has reassured residents that more beneficial programmes and policies are on the way to further provide relief in the face of the biting economic challenges being faced in the country. This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen during an interactive session with the media crew of the City of Lagos TV Show. While reiterating the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to improve the quality of lives in Lagos, Dr. Afolabi said that the laudable initiatives that are already in the pipeline are to further complement the existing ones such as the “Sanwo-Olu Listens Financial Assistance Programme”, “Ilera-Eko Health Care Scheme" that provides citizenry with access to essential healthcare and the “Ounje-Eko” Discount Market that is designed to support communities in Lagos State with affordable food items, amongst others. Highlighting the activities of the Office, the Special Adviser said that the Office has organised various Community Engagement and Sensitisation Programmes, actively involving key stakeholders such as Community Development Committees (CDCs), Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development and Human Rights (CDHR) groups, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). Dr. Afolabi added that these initiatives are held in collaboration with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), including the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) and the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) to empower and educate citizens on the various programmes, policies and activities of the Government that is beneficial to all the residents in the State. According to him, "The Governor has consistently supported our mission to bring the dividends of democracy to grassroots communities. Last year, we were able to visit some communities in Badagry, where we distributed palliatives to residents. In addition, we have the Maternal and Child Health Development (MICHD) programme, which provides nutritious food items to support vulnerable pregnant women from Prenatal to Postnatal stages at all the Five Divisions in Lagos State”. Maintaining that the Office has been able to achieve these through the support of Mr. Governor and Mr. Deputy Governor, he appreciated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat for their efforts towards the well-being of residents in the State. He revealed that efforts are being put in place to host a Breakfast Meeting with the Media officials, reiterating the Office’s commitment to engaging the public and creating awareness about the ongoing Government programmes and policies for all residents of the state. Emphasising the importance of active civic participation in the diverse and dynamic landscape of Lagos, Afolabi further said, “In an effort to foster transparency and Civic Engagement, the Office is also planning a series of events that will be beneficial to Lagosians during the upcoming Civic Week in November”. The Special Adviser, however, appealed to Lagosians to remain unwavering in their support for the government and join hands to build the Lagos of our dreams. @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @BSaluHundeyin @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG

AS PROTEST ENDS IN LAGOS, SANWO-OLU OPENS NEW GOVERNMENT ENGAGEMENT CHANNELS The Lagos State Government has expressed appreciation to the protesters in Lagos for their peaceful conduct and their announcement of an end to their action following the broadcast by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) today. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised the leaders of the protest in Lagos, saying: “Your stoppage of the protest today is a crystal clear affirmation of the fact that you know the government has heard your collective voice. What you have done is not only noble but the civilised thing to do."  In demonstration of the Lagos State Government’s commitment to continuous engagement with the youth, Mr. Governor has directed that despite the stoppage of the protest, the dialogue and engagements that the State government initiated prior to the action must continue. Consequently, Mr. Governor has directed the Ministry of Youth and Social Development; Ministry of Information and Strategy and Office of Civic Engagement to immediately open wider channels of engagement with various stakeholders, including the protest leaders.  The Executive Council members in charge of the Ministries can be reached on the following dedicated Citizens Access Lines:  . Office of Civic Engagement - +234 802 522 4347 . Ministry of Information & Strategy - +2348119655788 . Ministry of Youth & Social Development +2347077178295 Now it is fit and proper to, once again, warn our citizens to be very vigilant. Those who seek to divide us are yet to give up. They may continue to post fake news via audio and video channels. Lagosians must never give room to warmongering, scaremongering and rumour mongering. That is not our way; that is not who we are. That is not our style.  Mr. Sanwo-Olu, once again, praises Lagosians for rejecting anarchy and embracing peace. He praises the professional conduct of all security agencies, the Police Command, the Department of State Services, the Military, Civil Defence, and Neighbourhood Watch. The Governor notes with great pride the roles of our traditional rulers, Civil Society Organisations, Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, Student Leaders and others, who ensured Lagos remained peaceful.  He enjoins all Lagosians to continue their businesses without any fear whatsoever.  @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @BSaluHundeyin @Mr_JAGs #LASG #AGreaterLagosRising
