Have you noticed some depictions of Moloch show them with seven chambers? The lore associated with these chambers is that the seventh and innermost chamber receives the "greatest sacrifice”: children.  According to later Jewish texts about Moloch the first chamber is for birds, the second for goats, the third for sheep, the fourth for calves, the fifth for cows, the sixth for oxen and the seventh for children. These chambers appear to be a later addition to Moloch imagery and aren’t described anywhere in the Bible. In fact, Moloch being described as a bull-headed god isn't mentioned until much later as well. What you'll find is that the line between what’s fact and folklore with Moloch can be incredibly blurry. Child sacrifice related to this deity, however, is mentioned Biblically on a few occasions and is directed at the Israelites:  "And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord." - Leviticus 18:21 What I find interesting with the later addition of these chambers are the ways in which the number seven esoterically relates to bull symbolism. As an example, Taurus contains the Pleiades cluster which is well known for its seven stars and is often referred to as the Seven Sisters. The Big Dipper was referred to as the Thigh of the Bull in ancient Egypt and famously contains seven stars as well. Related to this, we more than likely get the actual symbol for the number seven (7) from the shape of the Big Dipper, which has several other bull associations. Many classic labyrinths associated with the Minotaur, infamous for devouring youths, are structured around seven concentric layers leading toward the center. Moloch is commonly associated with Saturn, who's lore is linked to the eating of children. Traditionally, Saturn was considered the seventh planet, not unlike Saturday (the day of Saturn) being the seventh and final day of the week. Interestingly, Saturday also serves as the Jewish Sabbath, the holiest day of the week in Judaism.

고든 화이트 선생님은 사실 카오스 매직의 여러 영감과 아이디어를 줬습니다. 직접 그와 소통하거나 무언가를 해본 적은 없지만, 그는 카오스 매직 마법사들 중에서도 꽤나 머리가 좋다고 볼 정도로 천재적인 식견을 보여줬습니다. 실제로 그는 런던에서 디지털 전략 분야와 사업 쪽에서 일했던 엘리트였다는 이야기를 들었고, 그 말을 이해할 수 있었습니다. 그렇지 않고서는 쉽게 볼 수 없는 견해들, 다른 카오스 마법사들과는 다른 식견들이 참 감탄스러웠습니다. 특히 PGM 관련된 다양한 아이디어는 잊지 못할 겁니다. 비록 코로나 사태 때 안티 백서로 활동하고 음모론에 너무 깊게 심취했다는 이야기가 있었기에 그에 대해 크게 실망하기도 했지만, 그래도 저에게 깊은 인상을 준 ‘작가’ 중에서는 열 손가락 안에 꼽히는 사람이기 때문에 캐럴에 이어 참 씁쓸합니다. 그의 명복을 빕니다.
