Let me tell you about the creator tension. On Youtube, My First Million episodes mostly get ~60k-300k views per pod lately. Spotify + iTunes, consistently in the 100k range (haven't looked in forever, but whatever it is, its consistent). This week Robert Greene was on. I LOVED recording it. I learned so much. I wanted to go for another 2 hours. He moved me. But on YouTube, its maybe the worst performing pod in the last 1-3 months. And yet - I've had SO many people text me saying how much they loved listening to the Robert Greene episode. I assume they listened (spotify, itunes), not watched This is the tension. The episode made me very happy. But will make me very little $$$.

@Austen It’s hard to bet against them long term though when some of their products alone make more revenue vs. other big/successful companies. Maybe what they need is to “lose” for a bit in the ai race to wake up the competitive nature again, rather than risk adverse bureaucracy.

It’s still insane to me that Apple just has zero serious AI initiatives or products. You have insane market share. Unlimited money. You control the OS and all the hardware. And you give us fkn Siri and “you can use ChatGPT with your action button.” Just incredible bag fumble.

@kevinleeme FEEL THIS. Sometimes the best solution is to just go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. Better brain power earlier in the morning than forcing it after kids are asleep.

Did not realize how physically and mentally exhausting it would be to care for 2 under 2 from 5-8PM every night. It takes extreme willpower for a parent to come back to their computer after the kids are asleep to start cranking on work again. Shoutout to all the parents.

The life you want is at the other side of the monotonous thing you fail to consistently do.

An extremely difficult part of building a business is everyday admitting you were wrong and failing in certain areas, this helps you identify where/how to get better. Most people get triggered by admitting fault, it’s painful/embarrassing. So most don’t ever build anything.

Having kids is not a burden. The burden is a society that has lost sight of what actually matters in life.
