13 years ago today, Superstorm Sandy made its catastrophic landfall in New Jersey. 80-90mph winds caused extensive tree damage and a storm surge of 4-9 feet forever changed coastal communities. Damage totaled $36.8 billion, making it the costliest storm in state history.

BIG BREAKING NEWS! The Enderlin, North Dakota #tornado from June 20, 2025 has been UPGRADED TO AN EF5. This is the first EF5 since 2013, and happened during the record-breaking year for tornadoes in North Dakota. This happened with the second supercell while we were doing search and rescue after the Spiritwood tornado. Great work by Grand Forks NWS on the detailed analysis, which continues.

WILDFIRE UPDATE: Jones Road Wildfire - Ocean & Lacey Townships, Ocean County At 12 p.m. on Monday, April 28, @NJDEPForestFire achieved 75% containment of a 15,300-acre wildfire burning in the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust’s Forked River Mountains Wilderness Area.

More than 50 Red Cross volunteers and staff have been supporting first responders and firefighters as they battle the Jones Road Wildfire in #OceanCounty. Today, teams also delivered masks & meals to communities, helping residents cope with a difficult two days.
