@cklein421 That's understandable! I recommend starting with The Inquisitor's Manual, which is a novel that appropriates the structure of the Benjy section from The Sound & The Fury, but each chapter has its own set of voices.
After that, Fado Alexandrino is a fantastic work.

May the memory of António Lobo Antunes remain a blessing! One of my favorite artists passed today, but he has left behind a vast and generative legacy.
Few students of Faulkner could modulate with such a pristine accuracy. His metaphors haunt each page with terrorizing throttle.

António Lobo Antunes is one of the greatest writers alive and working today! From the sheer leaps and bounds he takes to evolve Faulkner's styles, to his modulation of forms, there is no peer. Thanks to these great Porturguese translators, you can read him in English too.
