תניא, רבי עקיבא אומר: 'ואהבת לרעך כמוך' - כלל גדול בתורה. בן עזאי אומר: 'זה ספר תולדות אדם' - כלל גדול מזה. — ירושלמי נדרים ט:ד

@aaronnarraph The biggest news for me is the number of people who think that Congress has anything to do with local politics.

The macroeconomy is strong--high growth, low unemployment, falling inflation--the best of any advanced economy. But there was a reluctance to present/understand how families were still not out of the deep inflation hole. And too much masked by cherrypicking/misleading stats.

Some free advice for Democrats: if you want to win another election, find every clout-chasing pundit who told you voters were delusional about their unhappiness with the economy so you could ignore them, and never listen to them again. Start with this guy.
Will Stancil@whstancil

The archetypal example of this is how Democrats keep talking about “the very real economic pain suffered by workers.” There’s no actual empirical evidence that workers suffered greatly in the last few years, and a ton of evidence workers prospered. Sorry if that’s inconvenient.

@MoreAndAgain What he says is: The problem with our party is neoliberal economic policy. We need to build a bigger tent. For instance, gun owners. 🫠

Wow. Democratic senator says the quiet part loud and admits why the party is terrified of populism: “populism is bad for our high-income base.”

6/ We don't listen enough; we tell people what's good for them. And when progressives like Bernie aggressively go after the elites that hold people down, they are shunned as dangerous populists. Why? Maybe because true economic populism is bad for our high-income base. 😬

Sorry Chris, but he’ll go down in history as the worst president ever. Jimmy Carter can now RIP that title no longer belongs to him. That’s probably hard for you to grasp right now since he’s been a deep state household name for over 50 years, but it’s none the less true. Attempting to sway public opinion as to that aspect is about like telling the world that Kamala Harris was going to be the 47th president. You could probably have a great career though as a fictional novelist if the mood ever strikes you! God Bless 🇺🇸

If you're busy blaming the guy who stepped out of retirement—after losing a son, no less—to take down Trump, tackle a pandemic, and restore America’s global respect, maybe it's time to seriously check yourself. @POTUS @JoeBiden is headed for the history books as one of our finest, and he deserves thanks from his allies, not cheap shots. (And yeah, if this stings you a bit, it probably should 🤷)

Unmasked HCW: “Why are you masking? Are you sick?” Me: “No and I’m trying to stay that way” HCW: “Oh are you afraid of Covid? You’re not going to get Covid HERE” Followed by a big scoff. I don’t get it. The hospital is literally the place I’m MOST likely to catch Covid.

What Bernie does is center economic issues that have majoritarian support – because the best response to attacks on vulnerable groups is a counter-narrative that redirects anger to the real villains, the billionaires and corporations that are actually making people’s lives worse.

Rashida Tlaib won, outpacing Harris by 39 points in Dearborn. Two women, including a Black woman, running for Michigan state Supreme Court won. Sexism and racism may have played a role in Kamala Harris losing, but it is evidently an insufficient explanation.

Never forget that Democratic Party leadership chose to send Bill Clinton - the Super-Predator guy - to Michigan to champion genocide and settler colonization against people whose relatives live in that state. That can't be ignored. x.com/prem_thakker/s…

Bill Clinton in Michigan: "I understand why young Palestinian and Arab Americans in Michigan think too many people have died — I get that, but…" "Hamas makes sure that they're shielded by civilians, they'll force you to kill civilians, if you want to defend yourself."
