Stop talking like this. That's not you. You're not "cooking". You're (hopefully) doing something of importance, even just personal importance. You don't need to speak in meme language. You don't need to borrow someone else's templated voice because you think yours isn't interesting enough. You're trying too hard. Find yourself and respect yourself. There's a ghost in this shell somewhere, you need to find it. Stop hiding behind the performance and let whatever is actually in there come out, even if it's awkward or uncertain or doesn't sound like what everyone else is saying. Be weird. Be specific. Be you (if you know who that is).

this isn't a moral condemnation of these people, it just seems genuinely kind of sad to me. both for the person doing it and for the people in their inner circle who don't realize they're increasingly interacting with a proxy. and it's especially disconcerting that the twitter crowd doesn't really stop to say "wait a minute, what are you doing here?"

are people not putting together the compounding effect of these small outsourcings? using AI to write the thoughtful note, clawdbot to reply to your spouse, chatgpt to draft the birthday message. in a silo each feels minor, but what does the life you're building actually look like in 10 years if you keep pulling this thread? you're saving some time at the cost of hollowing out the connective tissue of your relationships. the stuff that feels inefficient is the relationship. the friction is kind of the point.

it's really cool seeing the acceleration of AI tools that unlock genuinely new behaviors. and clawdbot is a legitimately interesting example – proactive interaction vs. the typical prompt-response reactive model feels like a real technical leap but a side note that's increasingly struck me: the example use cases so often showcase this weird normalization of deeply bizarre social behavior. setting up clawdbot to text your wife back is just so far from anything that would ever fly in my life, or that I'd even think to want. and it's presented without much question.
