Fun Facts: The Commodores started at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama in 1968, they were literally a campus band before global fame. Early in their career, they toured as an opening act for The Jackson 5, which proved to be a huge break that helped launch them. They weren’t just a soul band. They blended funk, R&B, pop, and even soft rock, which is why they had both dance hits like Brick House and ballads like Easy. The legendary Lionel Richie was originally the group’s saxophonist before becoming the lead singer and main songwriter. The band reportedly picked “Commodores” from a dictionary, they simply liked how it sounded. How's that for inspiration the next time you're looking to name your child or business 😉 #musicnostalgia #thecommodores #womensmonth

Chuck Norris, the former world karate champion who used his fight prowess to become the star of a string of low-budget but financially successful action movies, has died aged 86. His family posted a message on social media saying Norris had died on Thursday, adding: “While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.” Norris won a series of karate championships in the late 1960s, and his friendship with fellow martial-artist Bruce Lee led to his eye-catching appearance in Lee’s 1972 hit The Way of the Dragon. Norris then went on to make a number of action films over the next two decades, including Invasion USA and The Delta Force, as well as the long-running TV series Walker, Texas Ranger. As we remember his life, what was your favourite role he played? #breakingnews #celebritynews

Twenty African wild dogs have been successfully reintroduced into Matusadona National Park, marking the return of the endangered species to the area after decades of local extinction. Two packs of the endangered African wild dog (Lycaon pictus), comprising six and 14 individuals respectively, were translocated and are currently settling in specialised holding facilities within the park before their release into the wild. According to conservation authorities, African wild dogs are among Africa’s most endangered large carnivores, with fewer than 7 000 individuals remaining in the wild due to threats such as habitat loss, disease and human-wildlife conflict. #tourism #conservation

Morocco was stunningly awarded the Africa Cup of Nations title Tuesday by appeals judges who overturned Senegal's victory in a chaotic final in January. The Confederation of African Football said its appeal board ruled Senegal was "declared to have forfeited the Final" and its 1-0 win in extra time becomes a 3-0 default win for host nation Morocco. At an initial disciplinary hearing, CAF imposed fines of more than $1 million and bans for Senegal and Morocco players and officials but left the result unchanged. The case could go to a further appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport based in Lausanne, Switzerland. In a statement, CAF confirmed that Morocco’s appeal was upheld in full, overturning the earlier Disciplinary Board ruling. The Appeal Board found Senegal guilty of misconduct under Articles 82 and 84, leading to the automatic forfeiture. The ruling also addressed several disciplinary matters: Morocco midfielder Ismaël Saibari’s sanction was reduced to a two‑match suspension, with one match suspended, and his USD 100 000 fine was scrapped. Fines against the FRMF for ball‑boy misconduct and laser incidents were reduced to USD 50 000 and USD 10 000 respectively. A USD 100 000 fine for interference around the VAR review area was upheld. The decision hands Morocco their first AFCON title since 1976.
