With only one non-automatic pollution monitor in a quiet cul-de-sac in #Alton, it's hard to know the true scale here. Suspect it often exceeds acceptable levels, in the High St, Draymans Way, Butts Rd, Ansty Rd, & elsewhere.

Britain has not invested in recycling, so looks to incineration as a solution.
One major problem - once built, contracts signed, the furnaces must be fed with any item of rubbish, including plastics, thereby removing incentives to reduce/recycle waste.

Once #incinerators are built & contracts signed, all incentives to reduce waste are thrown out of the window, &into the furnaces along with mountains of plastic waste.
The Tories even want to remove CO² produced by incinerators, from International Climate Agreements.
