Today in the Dáil I raised serious concerns about Ireland guaranteeing a €90 billion EU loan to Ukraine. Where will this money go. How does this square with Irish neutrality. And has Ireland not already done enough. Ireland has shown solidarity. Refugees welcomed. Aid given. Support delivered. But charity must begin at home. We have homelessness, fuel poverty, and working people paying USC while struggling to survive. I was extremely disappointed, but not surprised, to see the Labour Party side with Government on this motion. A government’s first duty is to its own people.
