A few weeks ago we published the first hand account of a German journalist raped in Israeli custody. She co-wrote the piece with an American journalist, who was also abused repeatedly. So Israeli prison guards will do that to Germans and Americans, but not to Palestinians?

@C4duceusstaff I don't think so tbh. Like, does anyone really think of 1940s~ China as an especially smart country? Also, it's not like Africans are uniquely resistant to having government ram change down their throats. Nyerere used a mailled fist in governance more often than not and did well.

General question but what is y’all’s vision of Africa between china, America, Russia/North Korea, Singapore/honk kong, Anglo colony/western Europe. All these models have their pros and cons, status and costs etc. personally I don’t mind Singapore/honk kong. Decent economic hub

I’ve been depressed lately… but super lowkey about it. Being a single woman with no kids or husband is very hard. I haven’t wanted kids or marriage since my early 20s… But as I become more responsible for my life and the lives of others, I really wish I had help: help paying my mortgage, help with my parents, help cleaning the house, help with a flat tire, help with my animals, help with life. I think about it and feel like I messed up. Even though I’ve never felt I needed a husband and children, I feel my life would’ve been so much easier with a little family of my own. The craziest thing is that so many people admire me and wish they had this supposed carefree life… but they don’t know how extremely hard I have it. Everything falls on me. I’m not complaining—I know this is God’s will and the life I chose. I’m forever grateful for my life and blessings. Just expressing that life isn’t as easy as many think it is for others.

I would stay home with my kid… but yeah, first 5 years is all about the baby… At this point I need to hit the next level before I change routes to dedicating my life to a baby and husband. You don’t sacrifice and be independent just to give that all up. That’s were the sadness comes. You can’t have it all in life. (Unless you’re a born lucky star!)
