code optimization is like microwaving popcorn if you don’t cook long enough you’ll end up with a lot of waste but get greedy and the whole thing burns a few choice kernels left over are a positive indication of a quality result just make sure they aren’t in the core user flow

balancer got hacked yesterday and today the tl is full of so-called auditors or pseudo security companies saying they already knew about the bug, let me tell you something: no one believes you and spreading fake statements is simply hurting your reputation

Compilation speed and stack too deep are our number one priorities and we have very good progress that we are excited to ship asap. Claiming that the language is fine as is from a features POV honestly just feels like a lack of ambition tbh. We can and will do so much better.

Maybe unpopular opinion, I think Solidity as-is is mostly fine, and the highest priority thing to fix is _not_ new syntax / language features but the complier: - make compilation 100x faster - make gas optimization 100x better - solving stack too deep - making the compiler easier to extend & experiment so that EVM devs can propose new EIPs that improve the EVM All for generics & better syntax, just doesn't feel like high priority. I fear a python2 to python3 moment.

if foundry started reformatting all your function headers since the new update here is the culprit: the behavior of this setting was changed and you need to use this new param to get the old behavior (otherwise all the function headers will now get multilined)
