If you voted for Trump, you voted for war with Iran. If you voted for Trump, you voted for selling off western federal lands. If you voted for Trump, you voted for importing cheap labor and blanket amnesties. Admit your failure of judgment, and stop voting GOP if you truly care.

@Littoria14 Post-war Ukraine is going to give America a run for its money as the worst dystopia on the planet if Putin doesn't annex everything up to Lviv.

@Saturn_Shuttle how chuds desperately want to view the civil war: "oh my god .. no more brother wars . . . ." How union soldiers actually viewed it: "did you read the article my communist officer wrote, anyway Hail Lincoln. Atlanta was divine punishment"

Not to ruin the photo, it's a great symbol, but they'd literally just broken up a fist-fight between the two sides minutes before the photo and this was about the only group of union vets even willing to meet them at gettysburg
History With Jacob@HistoryWJacob

The surviving Confederates of Pickett's Charge walked that field one more time. The Union men waiting on the other side shook their hands. Fifty years earlier, they had tried to kill each other. This time, they met as friends. A powerful reminder this Memorial Day 🇺🇸

@derrico_henrio Britain is an island surrounded by water. So they have high humidity. Being in Houston I'm well acquainted with how nasty that can get. Those temperatures combined with that constant humidity are very intense, especially if you're in older buildings designed to trap heat.

@giveashitnature How many collisions are prevented by this particular crossing? I'll bet it costs far more than it saves.

Wildlife-vehicle collisions cost the US around $8 to $10 billion every year. 200 human deaths, 26,000 injuries, and about a million animals dead. A standard wildlife overpass with fencing costs as little as $5 to $10 million. If the US spent $8 billion a year on them, we could build a 800+ a year. Banff National Park built 44 crossings over three decades. Wildlife-vehicle collisions there dropped by 80%. The crossings paid for themselves in avoided property damage and injuries within a few years. The evidence is strong: wildlife crossings save animal lives, reduce injuries, and often pay back substantial costs over time. The remaining challenge is finding the will to build them.

@Stekk02 @Carboniferoys Germany and Britain are also more liveable than Detroit. They're more liveable than the US as a whole as well.

White nationalists from the poorer white countries are always extra unserious. Romania becoming Detroit would probably raise the standard of living.

What I really hate is this revisionism that pretends Millennials and Zoomers weren't fed a steady diet of "You can't get a good job if you don't go to college" and "Do you want to be flipping burgers your whole life?" from the moment they entered kindergarten.
Joe 2.0🎙️@joe4deadcat

Millenials grew up in a booming economy with plenty of safe non-manual labor paper shuffling jobs. Collectively, they said “I’m too good for work!” and instead opted for 7 years of college & six figure debt. Now $6 coffee addictions prevent them from owning homes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

These are luxuries you're only supposed to buy twice a year at most and you're supposed to choose to skip meals under capitalism or so I've been told that the last week
Michael A. Arouet@MichaelAArouet

Western socialism is often just luxury beliefs funded by capitalism. People who’ve never missed a meal lecturing workers about “oppression” with iPhones from coffee shops while sipping $8 lattes. What’s the most out-of-touch socialist take you’ve heard?

@JRlotsofnumbers @calum_darroch @revenant_MMXX The exploitation of tens of millions of the poor and "middle class" (poor people with slightly nicer houses) is how this society persists. Your stock portfolio and 401(k) don't magically grow without input. Someone has to do the real jobs that enable asset inflation.

@calum_darroch @revenant_MMXX Society hasn't changed. They still only want the hard-working and responsible people to succeed, just like they always have. It has always been up to the individual to live responsibly and make the most of their opportunities. A lot of people fail to do that and end up poor.

And she worked hard to make sure you never had to endure that. Because good parents want their children to have the best life possible. The fact you are mocking the younger generations complaining about the degradation of living standards over the last few decades shows you are unworthy of any kind of leadership position or basic respect and your mother would likely consider you a failure right now.
Elias Graves Writes@EliasGravesLit

Dear Gen Z: My mother ate LARD sandwiches when she was a girl. She lived in a dirt floor shack with no electricity or indoor plumbing. She wore dresses made from flour sacks. Fuck you and your whining about the cost of a mocha latte.

@keewa This internet argument is dumb on both sides, but the idea that AC is an exclusively American sin is wrong. Some people live in warmer climates where AC is more applicable. Some people live in colder climates where it isn't. These images should be shoved into everyone's skulls.

@Pete_Hutter @aGnonSIS The most generous interpretation I can come up with is that's supposed to be a hobomaxxing Beat, considering the 1950 date. What really confuses me is this guy that looks like he would be contesting the results of the 2000 election in Florida, but on Bush's side.
