MILE END KICKS. A coming of age tale that nicely chronicles the steps (and missteps) taken by a woman truing to forge an identity in a male-dominated arena. Makes great use of its Montreal setting, and a committed, warts and all performance from Barbie Ferreira. #SXSW

Chandler Levack introducing her film Mike End Kicks. A great hangout movie. Worst Person in the World meets Almost Famous and pulled off with a teeny tiny budget. Nailed the 2010s, beautifully shot either some deliciously uncomfortable scenes - from narcotic open mics to bad sex.

Biggest take away from the Oscars for me is that finding people you love and making art with them is a worthy, integral and noble human pursuit, no matter the odds or outcomes.
