@LAParents1 Yes and every dollar invested in cleaner air in school returns 10x-100x on that investment.

We still have a chance to protect a lot of kids, teachers, and their families from reinfection this winter and long covid thereafter. We can still get air filters, better testing, and outdoor eating plans in place

@jennifer_pow It's all on my calendar and I just live by it like a robot. But, I really only know when they start and where they are. I don't know when they end, so I'm constantly asking my class what time class ends, and then I pace myself accordingly :P

How many people check the time that their classes start like 500 times before the first day of class, and still lose sleep?

Our leaders are bringing in temporary air filtration - because they know COVID is dangerous and transmitted via the air - instead of building clean air infrastructure for our kids. Clean air for me, not for thee. #SafeAirForKids #SafeAirForLAUSD We all have a right to safe air.

@LAParents1 @LAUSDSup @LASchools Yes and cleaner air has been linked to better cognition since long before COVID. Let's use this pandemic aid to upgrade clean air in our schools -- it's a win on so many levels.

We reject the @lausdsup implication that indoor air quality investments, outdoor eating, and non-honor system baselines negatively impact in-person learning. In fact, they explicitly support health, minimize absences due to illness, and ensure in-person continuity for @LASchools.

@sneakyjuror We are actively evaluating shaded areas (tree canopy and/or architectural) at school sites. Current focus is on elementary grade levels. We also continue to work with our greening partners for tree-planting that will help create new canopy cover on campuses. #AskLAUSDSup

Also about hot Valley schools, I went to a welcome event that had parent seats places in rows in direct sun while the audio equipment had a canopy. I noted the irony and it "burned" me. What happened to all of those white Covid tents? Can they be set up for events? #ASKLAUSDSUP
