@GoBlueArizona @BabeLuuth @game7__ If a technical foul is not up to a ref... then who makes the call? A sportscaster? A fan in the stands? No... technical fouls are awarded by referees. The referees on the court did not incur any infraction therefore there was no call. You'll just have to accept that.

@cliffd64 @BabeLuuth @game7__ Again, that’s not it. It’s not up to the ref. A coach cannot touch a referee, period. Which part of that do you not understand? You don’t know ball lol. Also, which part of UofM screams I’m a duke fan?

Game 7
Game 7@game7__·
It's rare that sports fans agree on anything. But everyone seems to be in agreement today: Duke got robbed this weekend. Dan Hurley and UConn have been flagrantly ignoring the rules for the entirety of the NCAA Tournament. Sunday was no exception. There were still 0.4 seconds on the clock. The game was live. Dan Hurley walked toward a referee on the sideline. He got in the official’s face. Then he pressed his forehead directly into the ref’s forehead. SI called it a “menacing forehead tap.” No technical foul was called. If it had been, Duke shoots two free throws. Down one. With an 86% free throw shooter at the line. Here's what actually happened and why this should be a much bigger story than it is. Braylon Mullins hit a 35-foot three to give UConn a 73-72 lead with 0.4 seconds left. It was the shot of the tournament. Nobody is disputing that. But in the seconds after the shot, Hurley walked toward a referee, got in his face, and pressed his forehead directly into the official's forehead. Sports Illustrated described it as a "menacing forehead tap." The clock still showed 0.4 seconds. The game was not over. A technical foul on a head coach for making contact with an official during a live ball is one of the easiest calls in basketball. There is no gray area. Contact with a game official is a technical. If it's called, Duke's Isaiah Evans steps to the free throw line, trailing 73-72. He shot 86% from the stripe this season. Makes both? Duke wins 74-73. Makes one? Overtime. That wasn't the only violation. When Mullins' shot went in, UConn bench players ran onto the court to celebrate before the game was over. They caught themselves and ran back, but they had already entered the playing area during a live ball. Duke's radio announcers immediately called for a technical. That wasn't called either. Two separate technical foul violations. Zero calls. In the span of 0.4 seconds. And here's what makes the Hurley part impossible to ignore. Three weeks ago, on March 7, Hurley was ejected from UConn's game at Marquette in the final second for getting in a referee's face. He was chest-to-shoulder with the official. Double technical. Ejected. The Big East fined him $25,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct. In the Sweet 16 against Michigan State on March 27, Hurley challenged an out-of-bounds call, got it overturned, and then sarcastically offered his glasses to the ref who got it wrong. Lip readers caught him asking about Lasik. Nothing was called. Two days later against Duke, Hurley was officially "warned" during the game for leaving his coach's box. Told to stay put. Then after the buzzer beater, he went forehead-to-forehead with a ref. Ejected and fined $25,000 at Marquette. Taunted a ref to his face at Michigan State with no consequences. Warned during the Duke game for leaving his coach's box. Then physical contact with a referee in the biggest moment of the tournament. The full breakdown of every missed call and what would have happened if any of them were made is here: itsgame7.com/news/duke-got-… UConn came back from 19 down. Mullins hit one of the greatest shots in tournament history. That part was earned. But two technical foul violations in 0.4 seconds, and neither one called, on a coach who was ejected for the same thing three weeks ago? That's not intensity. That's a pattern. And last night, it changed the outcome of a game.

@cliffd64 @game7__ Go ahead and just ignore that you stated the above. I didn’t have a horse in the race. I know this, if you intentionally go up and make contact with an official, it should be a T and you should get tossed. End of story. I don’t care about the situation. If you think otherwise,

@GoBlueArizona @BabeLuuth @game7__ Apparently not according to the ref involved... if he doesn't believe there was any infraction, then there is no call. Boo Hoo... your team choked. Big time. Historically.

@rthiel1096 @game7__ Obviously there wasn't anything there to call, otherwise the ref would have made the call. 19 point lead blown and THIS is what you hang your hat on? You're delusional.

@cliffd64 @game7__ “Change those things and Duke wins” Change that they didn’t call a T on something that should have been a T and Duke wins. No one is demanding the refs hand them anything. Dude headbutted a ref. Pretty sure that’s in the rule book. I mean, you thought you did something, right?

Simply put... if what you say was true... why wasn't it called? The reason is there was nothing there to call. Period. Now look for the real reasons Duke lost... they choked a 15 point half time lead and 19 point second half lead. All they had to do after inbounding that ball with 10 secs left was hold onto it and game over. Even if they were fouled... make the shots and the game is done.

I am blown away by anyone defending the Hurley/ref thing. Dude couldn’t have the impulse control of just celebrating his team’s miracle. Made it almost immediately about his beef with anyone in stripes and should have 100000% been T’d up and cost his player that moment. Unreal

First off, since you are incapable of discerning fake AI videos from real video... Let me help you. The video you all sharing NEVER happened... Go back and watch the broadcast. It NEVER HAPPENED. You can go on believing an obvious fake ... But this so called scene was not on the broadcast at all. If it had... There would have been cameras all over it! Don't be a fool to AI! SECONDLY: Duke coach summed it up perfectly... There was not one play but an entire collapse over the last 20 minutes. No team EVER lost a 15 point lead when leading by 15 at the half or more in the elite 8... Duke now owns that.

BREAKING: The NCAA is suspending UConn HC Dan Hurley for Saturday’s Final Four matchup against Illinois.   Hurley strictly violated Rule 10-3.2.h with 0.3 seconds left against Duke which prohibits physical contact with an official with intent to harm.

@mikehawk995 @barstoolsports Sounds like your grapes are particularly sour today... Grow up. Perhaps you should concentrate on how Duke fails to keep large leads. It wasn't even the first time they let a team back into the game in this tournament.

@barstoolsports Yeah this + the elbow to boozer’s face that should’ve been a flagrant 2 but wasn’t even reviewed + the 8 fouls called on Duke in the first 6 minutes of the second half to completely swing the momentum in favor of UConn, yeah this game has rigged written all over it.

There’s no coherent argument for releasing millions of pages of Epstein files but not releasing this. Every argument against releasing the congressional sexual misconduct files would also apply to the Epstein files (exposes victims, includes unsubstantiated claims, etc). And yet almost every member of congress voted to release the Epstein stuff. And now the vast majority oppose releasing their own files. Total farce.
