We are delighted to announce that Clifton Green has achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year. The School Games Mark is awarded to schools who have shown commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
Year 2 had a wonderful time at Scarborough on Monday and we were so lucky with the weather! The children had a fantastic time exploring the beach, seeing the lifeboat station, enjoying their lunch and eating a delicious ice cream!
On Environmental Awareness Day, Year 1 learnt all about plastic pollution in the sea. We listened to the story "The Undersea Cleaning Spree" about an octopus called Blub that finds lots of strange objects in the sea.
In Year 4 we investigated plastic and its uses, as well as the problems it can cause to the environment. We looked at persuasive writing in the form of posters. The posters encourage people to reduce, reuse and recycle plastics to reduce the impact it has upon the environment.
On Friday, year 6 looked at the effects of plastic in the ocean and they wrote letters to our local MP. In the afternoon they took photos to make a poster on the effects of plastic poluttion.
Year 3 learnt all about plastic pollution with a focus on the negative impact which this is having on our oceans and wildlife. We have all pledged to use less single use plastics and where possible to REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE more! Take a look at some of the children's super work!
Some Year 2 girls braced the cold weather today and enjoyed playing in a girls football tournament this afternoon. They worked extremely well as a team. They played 7 games of football and were great role models for the school. Well done Girls! #EmbraceEquality
