@SangitaMyska @BBCRadio3 This is so magical and welcome. I spent my honeymoon on Mull with my husband John. It will be our 24th wedding anniversary on 11 August. He died unexpectedly 2.5 years ago and I miss him so much. Mull holds a very special place I my heart.

Arrived in idyllic Tobermory. Fell in love with the historic town. Gorged on freshly caught langoustine. Ambled back to our room. Settled down with a dram of island whisky. Turned on @BBCRadio3 to be met by a Prom marking the centenary of the Shipping Forecast. A perfect day.

Anyone who is bereaved lives in the shadow of a myth about what a ‘good grief’ looks like. Look at almost any film or story about losing a spouse and there is a distinctive timeline, in which the same old landmarks crop up.

Maybe we should do more of those in conversation events - small theatres (300 capacity or so), independent places, maybe even out of town. Shout up if you know of any and we can have a think about some later this year or maybe early next year x

So much going on last few days I’ve not mentioned that Cambridge and Brighton were both great shows. Had a day off yesterday.. and now driving to Nottingham for tonight’s gig. Meanwhile here’s a couple of late night pics as we were leaving Brighton on Tuesday.

Sunday afternoon somewhere near Norwich. Last nights gig at Waterfront was another great show. Some naughty boys and girls chatting at the bar.. which upset me for a minute.. on reflection tho.. it was still a great night. Thanks all for being there 🙏

@PostsOfCats Twenty years ago my husband and I came home to a cat meeting outside our garage, in a little shared car park behind our house. Pulled in and about 20 cats were sitting in a circle with our mog. They scarpered and our cat just greeted us like nothing weird had just happened

"My wife and I forgot to close the garage last night. I think it became the meeting place for a secret cat gang."

@TKsAudioRoom Music, books and board games. The sideboard is full of hundreds of CDs and we have stacks of vinyl on the opposite wall behind me. My late husband’s favourite room, also known as the dining room. He was frontman in a post-punk band himself.

@HandbookWidows @BaldamNekder This happened to me and my husband too, on the last night of the Xmas break, 2 Jan 2023. We were due back to work next day, and our son was due to take his first mock A-Level. We’re having a heated up takeaway curry on Christmas Day and staying in our PJs x

@BaldamNekder You really didn't, and the second year is still new and raw. Tim died suddenly and unexpectedly next to me in our bed, and so I totally understand feelings bubbling under. I had PTSD symptoms and psychotherapy helped beyond measure. Please reach out any time x
