When you’re the best player on a team, it’s almost always your leadership > individual skill. Early Faker succeeded because his individual skill level was simply so much higher than everyone else’s. But League has evolved and teamplay matters way more now. What’s allowed him to stay the GOAT isn’t just mechanics anymore (there are much better mechanical players) it’s his leadership. He elevates whoever is around him. That’s where I see the gap with Inspired. As a big Basketball fan, he reminds me of Kevin Durant. By all measures one of the most talented players ever. He can fit into any system due to his versatility and has almost always been the best player on his team. But when it comes to being the leader of a team (which is often asked of the best player) he has failed every time. The only time he won was when he joined an already established system that didn’t rely on him to lead. He just needed to perform. In team games being individually great isn’t enough. If you can’t elevate the people around you, you’ll always fall short of the ultimate goal.
