You can clearly see there’s a reason why once artists work with BTS, their whole perception about who they are changes. Just from watching this full interview, you can tell the kind of drive and mindset that comes from Ryan Tedder as an artist, as a producer, aligns very closely with who BTS are as artists and musicians and how they’ve always approached their work. There’s no ambiguity in their goals. And it’s not about making hits. But it’s about music that speaks to them. Music that then, also speaks to others. It’s enthralling to listen to. And it’s that misconception people have that skews first impressions. Until they meet BTS, dive deeper into their work, and realise oh shit. These guys are the real deal. They care about their music. About their fans. They care about what they say. They care about every single beat and lyric and flow. Not just putting a bunch of samples and words together. Ryan talks about that throughout this interview and it made me see why he was a part of Arirang the way he was. Incredible.

@Seoul_OT7 Funny thing is BTS themselves have said this multiple times. Ppl just use Hybe and BSH as a scapegoat to blame when they don’t like something or something goes wrong because they can’t accept the fact that BTS are human or capable adults and can sometimes make mistakes.

Ryan Tedder said on Zach Sang show that BTS picks everything themselves: the songs, the writing, the direction. He addressed “Some people still think someone at HYBE or Bang PD is pulling the strings. BUT no!" They had to wait for the members to return to determine the album’s direction. Only BTS leads BTS. Just a reminder for the people at the back.
