@LITTLEBlRDS literally isn’t that the point tho? if you’re defending the use of “Tbh” in a published book by saying people say abbreviations out loud, ok sure, but it should (objectively) be written as TBH

this is just like… not true lmao. like yes there’s tons of bookslop getting published, but it’s BEEN like this. we’re just more aware of it because of social media. if you think most books/ books in general are failing in quality you just don’t read enough (or read good books)
seaweed✶⋆.˚@meowrquez

the issue is that BOOKS are falling in quality and a ton of published works lately are fanfic-level literature. It's not that fanfics are suddenly better, it's that published books have dropped massively in quality

No. Babes. No! Fanfic is reading but it’s reading that heavily relies on you already having a lot of previous context and emotional implication in the characters and world you are reading. It’s lighter work for both the writer and the reader. Which is ok! But def not the same!

Your brain does not know the difference between fanfic vs published novels lol reading is reading

@ringomercury @magdalenepop this isn’t some “i’m edgy and dark” post, the reactions to the jumpscare is just so disproportionate to the actual jumpscare 😭 her body is contorted in a freaky way but it’s just jessica chastain under a table 💀 it’s not even really a jump scare bc u can LITERALLY see it coming

this is what i mean when i say authors sometimes treat readers as dumb people. they just give it all chewed so we don't have to do it ourselves 😭

@rockwllneverdie @Darren_Mooney hey did you know God with a capital G is because God is a name and not because “God” with a capital G is a fancier title. “God” (the name) is a god (title. not capitalized). the Greek gods have their own names. they are not referred to as “God”.

@janhopi people think that sentences that are vaguely dramatic and uses the word with the most syllables after looking up “synonyms for _” is good writing
