Operating under the premise that acting in BL romances is somehow degrading — and that heterosexual actors would be “subjecting themselves” to uncomfortable situations — the author also compares accepting a BL role to the past sexual exploitation of female idols’ image. In the replies, several users echoed the homophobic undertones, with one woman stating that she “hopes young actors can shine in ways other than BLs, so her children can watch.” In short, the user attempts to push the idea that we should feel “sorry” for heterosexual actors who would need to “sacrifice themselves” by acting in BLs to boost their careers, rather than addressing the central issue: the fact that some may use queer narratives merely as a stepping stone to success.

Sick and tired of the "fetishization" discourse. It's based on misogyny and aims to shame audiences into not watching queer content so it goes back into obscurity. It only exists to hate on women and stop queer content. But people uses it to "defend" queers. 🤦
