I have 2 uncles that had “multi-million dollar software ideas” they wanted me to build for them for free. They got offended when I laughed and said no. Then they asked for the family discount. I told them that anyone who would ask for the family discount would pay double because they’d be worse to work with.

@ikevictor No. Intended for Ubuntu Desktop. Either 24.04 or 25.10.

Omakub 1.5 has been released and is now compatible with Ubuntu 25.10. This is essentially a finished remix, but we still snuck in a new Osaka Jade theme borrowed from Omarchy. github.com/basecamp/omaku…

@dhh Hadn’t thought of that. I have a Mac Pro and 2 Mac minis I stopped using because I could run the latest Mac OS on them anymore.

I've seen a million "Omarchy brought my vintage Mac back to life post", which all perfectly illustrate that making it EASY to get going with such a project was the pivotal point. This has been possible for years, but required a lot of fiddling. Now that it's quick, many do 🤘

@GregMolnar @kyrylo I don’t mind servers that have very clear guidelines for what is acceptable and enforce it, but the other discord will kick you for ideological reasons. That’s not ok. I should be able to argue my point of view as long as I’m not personally attacking anyone or being an asshole.

There is no official Ruby discord. The other one is ideologically captured and they banned a few people(including me) during the latest DHH cancellation attempt and the Rubygems drama for bringing up counterpoints to their accusations. This one doesn't ban anyone, even when there is a disagreement.
