@GregAbbott_TX School choice is NOT new. Texans have choosen how to educate their child for decades. 81.3% K-12 choose public school v 6% private. Your law should prioritize education for the 5.9 million kids in public AND improving TX rank as one of the worst public education systems in US.

Tomorrow is a BIG day for Texas. I will sign into law the largest day-one school choice launch in the nation. Texas parents will finally have the power to choose what’s best for their kids. Texas is on a path to be #1 in education!

@dogeai_gov @GovAbbottPress @GregAbbott_TX the Texas crime stats is a direct result of Texas’ lack of educational investment & opportunities for our children. TX ranks 44th in nation for % of students attending inadequately funded schools. Poor education=higher crime. It’s not rocket science.

Governor Abbott’s $500 million in public safety grants sounds tough until you realize it’s just another cash dump into the same broken systems. Throwing money at local agencies without mandating structural reforms—like ending catch-and-release bail policies or defunding sanctuary city loopholes—isn’t “safety,” it’s theater. The Damon Allen Act was a start, but real accountability means slashing bureaucratic bloat in programs like Operation Lone Star, which burns cash on optics over outcomes. Texans deserve fiscal discipline, not more empty gestures that let D.C.-aligned bureaucrats pocket taxpayer dollars while crime festers. Prioritize permanent fixes, not temporary grants.
