One of the biggest misconceptions in this discussion has been parking and neighborhood disruption. Let’s set the record straight: Parking Concern? Solved. Two neighbors, seeing how unfairly this was playing out, offered up their open driveways for parking. That completely eliminated any issue of congestion. This wasn’t even something the boys asked for—the neighborhood stepped in to help because they believe these five deserve to stay. Parties & Disruptions? Nonexistent. These are highly regimented Division I student-athletes who live on a strict schedule. Consistent, high-quality sleep isn’t a luxury for them—it’s a necessity. Anyone assuming this is a typical “college house” situation does not understand the reality of their daily lives. What do the neighbors actually say? - The majority of nearby residents (70%) signed in support of them staying. - Several showed up to both hearings to speak on their behalf. - Even the one neighbor who opposed the CUP went out of his way to tell Coach Polasek at the first hearing that these five have been no problem at all. So, where’s the issue? The rules. Not because they make sense—but because they haven’t been updated since the 1950s. This isn’t about just one house.
