@johnstepper Yes, 2020 print, with the blue cover. Having been on a coach for 7 hours today, over two trips, I’ve devoured the majority of the book. Final chapter to read and then looking to start a circle for the second time (I already strongarmed one of my last circle to return)

Reading (again) Working Out Loud by @johnstepper. Having fallen into an amazing job role with a brilliant team by sheer luck, then spent a year building my ‘social capital’ through conversations and sharing my knowledge, I feel a deeper connection with the themes this time.

I work in a ‘technology’ (network infrastructure) team within my organisation’s ‘x Digital’. We’re in a different building to the main digital office but there’s a larger gap between us than the 400 metre walk!

@benunsworth @jukesie @katybeale @stevedesigner I’m on the fence. It definitely isn’t a widely used term outside central gov. But it’s existence has been v useful in persuading folks we need all elements (esp data usually) to succeed. If we end up with just “digital” it will lose that power.

@Wiltsgal Well, if memory serves me correctly (which is getting less likely by the day it sometimes seems) I first interacted with you on DC coming up to ten years ago I expect, as a kind of OG keeper of the "things can change" faith. Nothing over the years has changed that perception.

A new MOD policy announced today will see MOD Civil Servants wear 'Equivalent Rank' tabs and receive salutes from military personnel they outrank. A very positive 'whole force' move although the plan to Court Martial troops who don't salute Civil Servants seems rather harsh!
