The problem is we spend on weapons like we are still fighting WW2. Until people are willing to drastically reduce military spending they aren’t serious about the debt. There is one reason it’s out of control. Our military. And it’s not about keeping us safe.

I worry about AI and robots taking jobs. The problem for all these smart companies is that the we have a consumer based economy. If every AI tool or bot leads to layoffs, companies will be firing away their own customer base. What does it matter if you can do things efficiently?

You know what would be amazing if Vance and his team can negotiate an agreement where Iran doesn't enrich above 3.67% (far below weapons grade); gets rid of 98% of its stockpile of enriched uranium; has weekly inspections by the IAEA; keeps the straits open without charging anyone; and commits to all of this for at least ten years. Oh, yeah, that was the Obama Iran deal.

So here are Iran’s peace terms, published in the Wall Street Journal. Non-aggression guarantee. Control of the Strait. Uranium enrichment rights. All sanctions lifted. UN resolutions scrapped. IAEA resolutions scrapped. Compensation payments for war damage. US forces out of the region. And a ceasefire covering Israel and Hezbollah as a bonus. Iran entered this war with none of that. Hillary Clinton and George W Bush are entirely indistinguishable politically.
